Wedding Woes

Things

1. DefConn woke up tired, clingy, and congested this morning. He wasn't feverish, just looked so sad.  I took him to the sitter, but not without a heaping serving of self-doubt and guilt. He fell asleep on the couch as soon as we got to his sitter's house.  He didn't even want to eat his applesauce pouch and cereal bar he brought with him.  I asked my neighbor if she saw DefConn at drop-off and she said she did and that he was chatting her son up one side and down the other.  Whew. I hope this means he was just sleepy and maybe having allergy issues.

2. Our showing last night showed up super early and the kiddo was in the house alone while I was off picking up DefConn.  Poor kid got a scare.

3. A neighbor did us a solid by listing their house (that's the same as ours) for $4k more than our asking price.

4. I may not have to see DH's friend that I don't like (he's in town from CA) because he didn't come over this past weekend and DH acted like they were going to go out and do something this coming weekend.  w00t.

5.  A police office died in a shooting this past weekend.  The local news interviewed the suspect's family and they said, "Well maybe if the officer didn't get out of the car to chase him, he'd still be alive."  The suspect was running down an alley with a semi-automatic weapon and the officers were responding to a shots fired call.  ::le sigh::

Re: Things

  • Congrats!!!  Hopefully you can stop the 13 hour days.  Those have to be even worse with the parasite hosting and all.  ;)
  • Congrats, Juche!
  • congrats juche! how far along are you?

13 hour days would suck anyways, but that complicates things further. hang in there.

Five weeks, so still super, super early, which is one reason we're keeping this info close so that parents don't find out. It was our first month trying, so we both kinda feel like champions.

ETA: Also, my boobs? Two cups sizes over the course of a week. I've never.

  • We only tried once and boom, DefConn.

My boobs never grew during pregnancy.  They looked a little fuller, but I only went up a band size. I'm OK with that though.  If they got too big, they probably would have smothered me.  ;)
  • Eek! Congrats, juche!

Band size hasn't changed, but I've gone from a D to a DDD. Husband says that will blow my secret at work.

Meh.  Wear a minimizer or just hunch over a few more weeks, no one will notice-Juche.  ;)  Also, congratulations---that is awesome.  You guys are conception champions!

Mrs. Conn---your number 5 makes me angry.  People only like Law Enforcement when they're CONVENIENT, which apparently is only 20% of the time.  The other 80% of the time?  Just look the other way...because it's not a good time for me.  Yep.  :-/

I know, right?  Also, we had a bad weekend shootings-wise around here.  The officers death came after an early morning shooting the same day where 7 or 8 people were shot because they got caught in the crossfire of a gun battle between two people.  It was in a popular nightclub area as the clubs were closing down for the night.

A LOT of people on my FB feed are pissed as hell.  We've been having an awful year with shootings and this is the second officer's death in a year.  The city police force is having a really hard time getting a handle on the gun violence.  It all just sucks.

Things: 1. DS has had a stomach bug since Saturday. Practically his entire class has had it. He seemed much better yesterday, so I went to drop him off this morning and he had a blowout all over both of us. Eeeeew. I was home Mon. & Tues. and DH swore he'd take the next one. When I called him, he did turn around and come right home, but he's been grumbling about it ever since and I kind of want to punch him in the junk. Maybe not as hard as I possibly can, but hard enough. 2. My house is kind of a wreck at the moment, and my dad and his wife arrive tomorrow. Tomorrow is cleaning day (YAY!), but in order for the house to be cleaned, we have to pick up the toys, clear off the counter, etc. 3. DH is the worst packer ever. He'll fill a 2' x 2' x 2' box with paperbacks so it weighs like 400 lbs, he won't fill the next one so it caves in when you stack another one on top of it, and then he'll overfill the third one so the top bulges and the tape won't stick. It's driving me nuts. 4. We're moving our phones from AT&T to T-Mobile and something has gone awry with unlocking them and now we have these temporary throwaway Alcatel phones and they are teh suck. I couldn't even figure out how to answer it when the pedi called back, I accidentally declined the call and exposed DS to all kinds of words he really shouldn't know yet. I leave DH vmail and he can't figure out how to retrieve it. I can't wait until my real phone is back online. 5. In happier news, the drywall repair (to fix the wall-holes the plumber made) was cheaper than we thought it would be, and the guys did an amazing job. And we took the kids to see the new house (before DS got sick) and they loved it. Well, mostly the Woozle, but DS didn't seem to have any objections. 6. Since I was home with DS yesterday and he seemed to be doing better, I kept DD home as well. We were eating popsicles yesterday afternoon when she told me it was a good thing she was born before DS, because if we hadn't taken her name advice for him we might have named him "something funky" and then she would be born and she wouldn't like his name, "not even when I'm a grown up." ETA: sorry for the Wall o'Text, no idea what's going on but suspect some kind of Firefox issue.

(recently theknot doesn't like enters from some of us.  Not you)

I'm glad you got name approval :)
  • Congrats Juche! That band size will go up, once your little parasite reaches fetal status and pushes all your internal organs up into your diaphragm!

Congrats Juche! That's a lot of things Heffa. I got nothing.
  • Congrats Juche!

And in other news, DD continues to not sleep at night. I am tired. DS is really cute- he will wake up in the morning and play in her room until I can drag my tired ass in there to get her up for the morning.
