Can't handle my mother

My wedding is 10 days out, and I have things reasonably under control. You know, I have some things to do but I'm between jobs so I have plenty of time and I'm generally feeling pretty good. Then enter my mother: she has a way of making things stressful that just don't need to be stressful, and creating drama where there was none. She has a habit of making the same point over and over and over and over and over again when we disagree on something, which makes me tell her to stop talking because she's repeating herself, then she wonders why I'm irked with her. I've resorted to ignoring many of her calls. I guess I don't really have a question, just needed a major vent. I just need her to leave me alone!

    My mom can be the same way. It's why I ignore her calls/texts if I don't want to deal with potential extra stress. She's incredibly stubborn and set in her views which can be really frustrating when I want her to see things from my perspective. So in short I can totally relate! Just try to minimize contact with her till after the wedding!

    I feel you OP. My mom does it so often that my FI has officially called the behavior "flipping a (insert moms name here)" . I normally tune her out after the second time.

    My mom told me a few weeks ago that she is going to take the whole week before my wedding off...I am only taking the Friday before hand. She seems to think I will be running around like a chicken with my head cut off that week and that I will need her help...This all coming from the woman who waited until 4 months before and everything being finalized to take an interest AT ALL in this wedding....Not saying that she had to...but seriously...I am confused.

    OMG I feel you. My mom went to a distant cousin's wedding last weekend and has now requested to add a bunch of extra people to the guest list... after I ordered the invitations! I let her add a few and then had to put my foot down. If she wanted to invite people, she should have asked 9 months ago when I asked her about who should be there!
