  What if you wore the sports themed one and did a private garter removal in your room after the wedding? That way, there's no pressure to "toss" it and you don't have to come up with the logistics of an alternative.

  One on each leg and offer him the leg with the toss garter and then he sees the other one later.

  OR (and this is my personal favorite) don't toss the garter. I'm sorry but I've hated seeing this "tradition" and often find them trashy.

  I skipped garter thing.  I always feel embarrassed for bride with groom up her skirt and their dads watching.  My vote: no garters and spend more on some really fantastic lingerie.  I'd never spent as much for lingerie as I did for my wedding, but trust me, hubby noticed.  I wasn't sure it would be worth it, but it definitely was.

  I would wear the sports garter for him to take off later. You can use a "dummy" garter without doing the removal, or use a completely separate thing. My H tossed a companion cube instead.

  We bought a batman set-- the toss garter is a less "intricate" version of the one we will keep. I plan on wearing it just above my knee, then discreetly moving it below my knee before garter toss. He won't have to be groping up my skirt, and for some reason really wanted to do the garter toss. There will be no stupid things the garter catcher and bouquet catcher have to do afterwards, but maybe they'll get a prize :-)

  Most garters I've seen come in sets - a nice one, and a throw one. You could wear them both on the same leg with the toss one below the nice one so that's the one he removes, or one on each leg.

  
  

  We're skipping the actual removal part altogether because I hate it (and my dress is too tight for that anyway) and he's throwing a cheapy one placed around a football. The person who catches it won't have to do anything afterward.

  yeah we're doing zero removal of garter haha I just can't be doing that in front of our parents! I actually made mine, so the first one turned out a little rough, so I have that set aside to toss and I'll wear my nice one. I agree with PP- skip the removal and toss a less nice one!

  I wore two and just before the toss I lower the throw one so it was on my knee. I didn't want him up there rooting around in front of everyone. I told him before he started "it's on my knee." He kept his head out of my dress...dad and grandma don't want to see that >:-(
