Ahhh - wedding rental backed out

I got a call this morning that my rental company had backed out. They overbooked the weekend and since we were the smallest at 100 guests - they cut us. That means no tables, chairs, dishes, or linens!

I live in a small area and there aren't other rental places nearby. We are trying to work with a company that's about 45 minutes away - unfortunately delivery will be more than the cost of the rental so we may end up having to pick up everything ourselves.

Stress that I really didn't need!

    wow that really sucks...had you signed a contract with the rental company? If so, they shouldn't just be "cutting" you like this....

    Exactly what I thought.  They can't just leave you high and dry if they made a signed commitment.

    I am getting my chairs and tables through the HS. Ask high schools or even churches sometimes will lend you tables and chairs.

    I had a contract - but in small print it does say that they reserve the right to cancel the contract at any time with a full refund.

    That really sucks :(  How horrible of this company to mess people about on their special day.  Hope you the other route works out!

    That stinks that you got cancelled on! I would call and ask for referrals from them or call your venue.

    Well - just to update everyone it did all work out. I spent hours on the phone yesterday and found a rental place with good references. Plus a friend who owns a restaurant is letting us use all of the dishware for free since he felt so bad. Overall the whole disaster turned out to be a good thing since it is now about $700 cheaper than what we were going to be paying.
