Braggitty brag brag

I've had a wild month or so and especially a wild last couple of days. In early June, we made a big move. FI found a new job in the nick of time. Then we got married almost 3 weeks ago. I've been applying for jobs, mostly as a transfer within my company but applying for other things just in case.

I've strongly suspected a friend of mine from back home is pregnant based on hints about not drinking coffee or booze anymore, and she announced it on facebook yesterday and I'm super excited. Five minutes later, I got a call for an interview with my company. I had my interview today and she couldn't believe how little I was being paid at the old group home and I will be starting at this one at a wage that's almost a third higher. I had pretty much pick of the litter and they're happy to work with me on switching time blocks as my needs adjust, but for now this will be great. And no violent clients!

Then I got home to a letter from the nursing school I applied to. I really truly did not think I would get in, but I did. Only thing is they reused the same letters from last semester so it's saying that I need to send it back my April 1 lol. But wooo! So basically everything I've been stressing over the last several months has suddenly resolved itself.

Anything exciting in the fire for you?

Re: Braggitty brag brag

  • Wow! Congrats on having a successful few weeks!

I posted about this earlier, but I got a call this week for a job interview next week. I applied to the job in April and pretty much wrote it off since I have been out of the office. I am using my abundance of free time trying to be super prepared so they'll overlook the fact that I can only be part time for the next 4 months.

  • That is awesomesauce all around!!  Congrats!!

FI and I picked up our marriage license from the courthouse this afternoon!  And on Friday, I pick up my dress from the seamstress!  And I've used an obscene amount of exclamation poitns in this post!

  • Big WOOHOOOOS to everybody! I, uh, haven't punched this bitch I work with. So there's that. And I'm super on top of buying a gift for a baby shower that isn't until mid-August.

@sugargirl1019 you are a special kind of super hero to me for that. Isn't it like extra sensitive or anything? I've never gotten one at all because I'm terrified, so damn.

Yes, apparently so. It was my first one. The lady doing it even said I was brave.. But what do I know about the pain? I didn't cry, but it definitely shocked me! But who are we kidding. Yes it hurt like hell even after 3 ibuprofen.

    Thanks and congrats all!

I don't think Brazillians are as bad as one would think, as long as you have someone who knows what they're  doing. I did have one very bad, very unproductive one where I was really scared I was going to be fisted on accident. The rest, not so bad. I've actually been keeping my eye on groupon for one in my area. maybe I'll just go for laser removal, hmm...

So much this. As soon as I'm not putting half my paycheck toward my wedding, that's happening. Think I can go in and ask for everything below the eyebrows?

  • Congrats! That's awesome!

My company just closed our Series A financing. We now have the ability to keep afloat and grow. Better yet, I just got my first paycheck as an employee rather than an independent contractor. No benefits, etc. yet but we think that might come soon!

Uh, "everything below the eyebrows" has been my plan as long as I can remember.  Now I just have to hit the lottery.  Actually, a salon in my area has a deal where you can get all the laser hair removal you want for a monthly fee.  My hairy Italian self is gonna make them regret that offer!
