Planning a Vegas wedding for under 1K in 2 months?

Hello! I am newly engaged (yay!!) and am already overwhelmed with planning LOL. I want something very small and inexpensive - we have a house and I'd rather put money into that. We are going to Vegas the last week of September with my mom and my FI's mom, so I am considering having a small wedding ceremony there at Chapel of the flowers or somewhere similar (and then going to lunch or dinner afterwards). It would be nice to do it there since my FI's mom is coming from Australia and won't make it back to the States again for probably another six months or so. Is that enough time to plan something like this or am I crazy?

    I think that's definitely enough time. Have you found out if the chapel is free. are you having a photographer?  There's so many choices for dinner you will be fine!

    When you say $1000 is that including you hotel, travel and spending expenses? If yes, I think it's still doable but you may have to sacrifce some quality. If $1000 is you wedding budget the. You definetly can do it.

    For sure! Check out the Silver Sky chapel. Their cheapest package is $179/$229 depending on the day.

    Thank you everyone! Sorry I should have specified - the $1000 would be for the actual wedding ceremony itself, though I would like it to be even less than that! I will check out the Silver Sky chapel, thanks!

    You might check out the Little Church of the West.  My nephew was married there (planned in less than 10 days), and it was a very cute chapel.  It wasn't very expensive either.

    They offer non-denominational ceremonies at most places as well don't they? Or should I get a non-denominational officiant from somewhere else?

    For $1000 you should be able to have a beautiful ceremony and a nice dinner with such a small group. The chapel of flowes has packages starting at $195. They have a handful of options under $500 if you want to upgrade, and that could leave room for tux rental and a dress too. Lots of great options for dresses for under $150, like David's bridal $99 dress sale and events like the brides against breast cancer and brides for the cause tours. You can also check online sites like recycled bride, and local wedding Facebook groups. There is always the simplicity of a non traditional wedding dress as well. You can have an amazingn time for $1000 or less in vegas. Good luck!

    Thanks so much for your responses everyone! One more question - are there any venues you can recommend that will marry people in a garden-like setting or near the water? I see that Chapel of the Flowers has a nice gazebo but from what I've read some people said it can be a bit noisy due to where it's located.

    Flamingo is great for outdoor and very reasonably priced. You do not have to go with a wedding package either- you can go a-la-cart with Flamingo to save money. If you want your own photographer, Flamingo is the most reasonably priced in allowing an outside vendor shoot the wedding as well. They have at least 3 or 4 outdoor wedding options.

    I agree, of we had choose. A cooler month we really liked flamingo outdoor venue. We also like ceasars garden, but it's a bit more pricey

    I'm going to get married on The Terrace at Vegas Weddings (702wedding.com). It's a nice gazebo setting and we are having the ceremony at sunset. They have a live webcam so you can see how the ceremony looks (most nights they have weddings showing around 7:30 pm their time). I did a lot of research online and read a lot of reviews on Trip Advisor and also their Facebook page and even emailed a few brides with questions I had so I feel confident with the venue. They have a lot of different packages like most chapels and you can definitely get married for well under $1000. Congrats on your engagement!

    I was so happy to read your post. I find myself not really able to relate to anyone on this discussion board. Most brides on here are having over 50 guests, a full on traditional reception, and renting buses and limos and hiring expensive photographers and DJs. I'm going to Vegas to have a small-budget wedding with a small guests list and a simple ceremony and dinner. I think you will have no problem booking your ceremony within your budget. My budget for the ceremony was $500 and I found lots of options. Good luck, and congrats!

    @myriah505 I did exactly the same last year, I had 9 guests ceremony at Caesars, dinner at Canaletto and that was it just simple and easy. There were a few doing the same but I agree not many.

    I had a very small wedding.  Five people in total, including me and hubby.  It was very low key and just what I wanted.  We got married at COF for less than $500 and had dinner at Scarpetta in the Cosmopolitan.  The biggest cost for us was hiring a wedding photographer.  I deliberated that one for a while but am so glad I decided to get one.

    I am getting married in two weeks at the Lakeside Garden through Always and Forever weddings. It is about 15 min from the strip. I'm having about 15 people and the package was around $700 which includes a photographer, bouquet, minister and everything else we need for the ceremony. I had a tough time finding a place that felt less "Vegas chapel" and more quaint so we are keeping our fingers crossed on this one. Hope this helps!

    We had did our wedding at COF in Feb 2012 with <4 mos notice. I bought my dress at a boutique for $350 and he wore a suit. We chose a package that included a small-ish photo package, we didn't need any more than that, and the photos were fine. We rented a limo for an hour ($125)for a custom "on the fly" strip tour (of which we paid little attention to - just drank and laughed and relaxed in the limo) and they dropped us off at Excalibur where we ate burgers and drank beer and had a blast with our friends at Dick's Last Resort. Everyone went their own ways and took cabs or walked back to their hotels after that.

    We all got hungry late that night, so we all met up and we treated them to a buffet at one of the casinos (TI, I think?).

    The whole day was very casual and relaxed, done on a budget, and we had a great time. Hope you do too!

    @07ultraclassic this sounds like the perfect day to me!!  this is exactly what we hope to plan for our day.  Casual and more money spent on fun aspects rather on photos/ceremony!
