Drum roll, please ...

Finally! DH and I have chosen the photos for our album. As some of you know, we had quite a number of events/stressors pop up very shortly after the wedding, so finding the time to cull through 300+ photos and narrow it down to 70 wasn't quite our #1 priority.

Anyhoo, after a few fits and starts, we finally accomplished the mission. I am a huge fan of photography and ... wow! I was so happy to see how many choices, perspectives and styles we had before us (there were actually 3 photographers). We also saw a few photos we know we want as stand-alone portraits.

Some of our favorite shots are, of course, the multi-generational family shots: my son (18) with my mother (79); my cousin (56) with his daughter (13); another cousin (57) with one of our aunts (79), etc. Of those family shots, the one I love most is my mother with her siblings. Everyone is laughing and they all look great!.

DH and I did a lot of dancing and a lot of kissing. Smooching here and there, smooching, smooching ... everywhere! And, of course, there are the shoes. All in all, it will be a kick-arse album. I'm just bummed we couldn't get this completed a couple of months ago.

Yippee!

  • Yay for albums! Isn't it funny which photos make you the happiest? It's not the typical ones, usually, but those captured moments. Love the one you describe, with your mom and her siblings. So precious! ~Donna
  • Congrats Lisa! I agree, there were pictures I found the photographer took that I had no idea were taken, but were favorites.
  • Congratulations Lisa!! I totally understand how life can get in the way of completing a task. I'm happy that you were able to get it accomplished though.

We have over (are you sitting down) 1500 pictures from our professional photographers and probably another 200 from friends and family as well... pulling out just 50 for an album is going to be tough.

Every time we go through the 5 DVD's I see something new. It's crazy.

Day ... um! 1,500? Holy moly, Angie. That's going to take the better part of a year. I wish you the best! Our 300+ had been culled down by the photgrapher from a total of almost 800. None of it is easy.

Yeah, that's one of our favorites! I'm thinking of getting five reprints and giving them as gifts. So cute! And my mom looks so delighted, as if she's completely in the moment. It really makes me happy. *sigh*
  • I agree with Donna about the picture of your mom and her siblings!! Very precious indeed.

Some of our 1500 pictures will be more precious as time goes by that is certain. Our photographers out did themselves and were also surprised by the shear volume of shots they got - there are about 10 photographs that the lighting isn't the best....which isn't that many in that quantity of shots.

Wow! That's awesome, Angie. I cannot imagine how you're going to narrow down that quantity. I'm sure it will be a lot of fun, though! Good luck.
