Cosmo Wraparound Terrace

Me again!

We are thinking of changing our in suite party to the Wraparound Terrace. I currently have the PH Panorama booked, but am thinking of changing for a couple of reasons:

  1. Outdoor balcony... massive plus
  2. More fridge space - the panorama only has a bar fridge
  3. We are having our dinner at the Wicked Spoon... so would be less walking around for everyone.

We have about 30 people coming, so it should be big enough for drinks only. After reading a bunch of reviews on here, some people have said there can be issues with getting alcohol and all the guests to the room. The staff can be a little hostile to the party?

Also, does anyone know how to book the "premium" room - to ensure the good views?

If anyone has one booked, or has had their wedding their recently, Ide love to hear your thoughts.

Re: Cosmo Wraparound Terrace

  • I have it booked ...... We shall see - I read the same stuff. I have my fingers crossed.
  • Did you book a "premium" room? Ive emailed my contact at WS to see if she can put me onto someone to book the premium room. Ill be up front and tell them we are hosting drinks up there and see what they say. Did you tell them you were having a party there?
  • I've booked the suite too, we will be there in two weeks. To book the premium room I rang up and booked it over the phone. It was $50 extra per night, you could wait until you get there and hope for an upgrade but I didn't want to take the risk so I just paid the extra.

Everyone I have spoken to say it's the most amazing suite and the views are amazing. I can't wait to go!
  • yeah, im happy to pay the extra to guarantee it. Im trying to have to avoid international call charges... will see if I get an email reply.... have so far managed to book this whole wedding without a single phone call!

@australiansam They have a toll free international number! from the website (855.455.1055 International Toll Free)
If you try to book online they don't offer the premium room option on the cosmopolitan website that i could see. I just Called and asked for the premium view wrap around suite for 5/30/15 and it was $740 but they charged my card $828 total (with fees and 12% tax?) plus they will charge the $25 Hotel fee the day we get there and $150 for "incidentals" that they will refund after we check out.
I'm only super nervous because we get the room at 3 and the caterers are coming at 3 to start setting up. Hopefully we can get early check in but as they said when i asked no guarantees. I'm not mentioning we're having a party or anything at all. When i hired the caterers (Masterpiece Cuisine) they seemed not worried in the slightest because they themselves just hosted a party in one of the wrap around suites a few months ago for 50 people. I am going to hire a day of coordinator (as soon as culinary pros finally emails me back) so that someone can meet guests to bring them up to the room because you need a special card while on the elevator to get to the room)
  • thanks irishvegas! Ill give them a call this week. How much is Culinary Pros for a day-of coordinator? At this stage, we will have  our parents taking all the pre-purchased alcohol from the flamingo to the suite whilst we are on our photo tour. They don't mind, but if its not much, Ide consider hiring one. Also will have to have someone set up table decorations at Wicked Spoon, because you can only do that half hour before the booking!!! WTF?
  • Hi Sam

I stayed in a wraparound suite at the Cosmo for five nights in October last year.  I sent an enquiry to the small groups and celebrations team, and was allocated a wedding coordinator (even though i didn't get married there).  I did however tell a wee white lie and say that there was the potential for us to book a group of rooms and what was the cheapest rate she could do?  She quoted me a good rate (better than the website) and about a week later was fine with me then cancelling the rest of the rooms as guests had decided to stay elsewhere.

I didn't pay extra for the premium view, i chanced it and only paid $20 extra per night for the premium view when we checked in.

You could try emailing an enquiry to this email: weddings@cosmopolitanlasvegas.com

  • is there a minimum hire @hmgiffor? I could probably get away with about 3 hrs of help!
  • They didn't say. I need to schedule a time with Sari to find out more.

  • @irishvegas - I just got pricing back on this suite for our date.... Its only $390 for the night in a premium view! The joys of not having a wedding on a weekend! Considering we have paid (refundable) $700 for the Panorama at PH - I think this seals the deal!

Ive emailed PH and they have cancelled my booking. Once I get the money back Ill be booking the Cosmo AND saving myself $300

  • It is very easy to get alcohol and vendors into the room in the east tower. We brought everything/ everyone up from the garage to the 3rd floor, switched to the room elevators and were in the room in no time.

  • We have Masterpiece catering our Meet & Greet the night before the wedding and currently have the Vista Suite at Mandalay Bay booked.  I kept checking to see if the price had gone down and noticed it was no longer listed on the website.  I called and they said they're sold out and that I have one reserved but they can't guarantee it.  That makes me really nervous, especially considering the stories I've read on here about some other brides getting bumped from the Vista.  I would love to do the Cosmo wraparound suite but my concern was that it wouldn't be big enough.  We're expecting about 50-60 people but probably not all at the same time.  We told people to drop by any time between 5-9pm.  Do you think we'd have problems fitting that large of a group into a wraparound suite?

  • the document they sent me said 40 standing... I guess if people are coming and going you might be ok... but I would also think if you are serving food and drinks and people have come to Vegas for your wedding.... then most people would be there for the bulk of the night... unless its too squishy, then they might leave :)
  • Actually, I don't anticipate everyone being there at the same time.  A lot of people aren't getting in until later that afternoon/evening and others will be on east coast time and be ready to hit the hay at 8pm Vegas time.  That's why we left the time open; so people could come whenever they want.  There is no set time anyone needs to arrive.  It's a party we are having the night before the wedding so some people won't even be there until the next day.  It will be a large group though and even with the terrace, it may be too squished and I certainly don't want that.

  • @dbacksgirl‌ - I have the Cosmo Wraparound booked and expect 50-60. I will see it next Tuesday :-) yeah! I will let you know what I think after that. Also, Scott at Masterpiece used this same room for his own reception and told me he had about 55 folks which went just fine. Won't work if it's a sit down dinner, but for mingling & appetizers/drinks I'm saying yes it will work based on Scott's feedback.
  • interestingly... I just received an email from the wedding coordinator at the Cosmo (who I requested the premium booking through) asking how many people I would be having in there because it only holds 12-15 people!!! Do you think she is trying to get me to admit im having a "party" in there so she can decline my booking.... or kick me out on the night?!?!?! little nervous now!

Im not worried about her saying it fits 12-15 people - as clearly everyone here thinks 40 people will fit!

  • @nyvegaslove You have to tell me how it goes! -we have masterpiece and about 50 coming too! Congrats!! Do you know what you're doing for music?
  • @irishvegas - music is about the only thing I haven't done. I keep thinking about it.. but put it in the too hard basket. I was just going to make a playlist on the trusty ipod and use that... I think I read somewhere that you have to play the music through the TV in the suite though and need a cable? Don't know what the sound quality would be like. \

What are you thinking of doing? I don't want to spend any more money!

  • You ladies are braver than I! I don't see how 40 or 50 could fit in a Cosmo wraparound suite. Maybe if you were just entertaining for drinks. I could see 30 as the max but then again I haven't seen it live in action for an event either.

@australiansam This is what they have in the wrap around suites located on the desk under the tv. So if you have something than can connect it should run through the tv just fine. Sound should be ok but not really loud if i had to guess. An audio cable (speaker cable) should work just fine with your ipod.
  • @irishvegas‌ ~ I have DJ Godzilla booked for the night, yes for the Cosmo Wraparound Suite. We have to have dancing!!!! I have an appt to see it on Tues. I'll get pics and let you know what I think.
  • @nyvegaslove - please post pics! would love to see it "in real life" and please check-out / ask about the music equipment!
