Flowers - what did you pay?

Hi All! I am on to booking my next big vendor - the florist. I honestly have no idea where to start. We will likely have between 12 - 14 tables at the reception, so 12 - 14 centerpieces. I will also need the bridal bouquet, 5 bridemaids bouquets, groom boutineer, 5 groomsmen boutineers, ceremony decorations, and I think that about covers it. What is a resonable price for North Jersey vendors? I am meeting with the first florist this coming weekend and I want to know what to expect. TIA!!

It varies depending on the specific flowers that you are looking for as well as your centerpiece size.  I got quotes from 7 different florists, and they ranged from $1400-2400.  I had one florist give me a quote of $1200, but charged an additional $500 delivery fee!

The florist I went with charged me significantly smaller delivery fee and was amazing.  I was incredibly pleased with the size and quality of all of our arrangements.  I think we paid about $1800.  I had 12 tables (3 arrangements in mason jars on each), head table, escort card table arrangements, bridal bouquet, 3 BM bouquets, 3 corsages (moms and grandma), 1 grooms bout, 4 gm bouts, 2 dad bouts, cake flowers, and a huge overhead arrangement for my ceremony.

  • Try shoprite!

Sounds crazy I know but I am using them for my bouquets as I have to go through one of the vendors at the Westmount centerpieces.

I had a friend use them for centerpieces and they were gorgeous and a fraction of the price!!

Thank you, @silver0319! I forgot about the corsages and dad boutineers!

@laur6327 - Shop Rite?? Hmm...that's an idea! The westmont was one of our top two choices. LOVE that venue! Thank you for the idea; I will look into it.

  • My friend's sister used ShopRite her flowers too. I also checked into whole foods when we first started looking, but it wasn't going to work logistically.

Depends on lots of things.  Will you have high centerpieces (could be upwards of $200+ for each) or low centerpieces ($50+)?   What type of flowers?  In season flowers?  What kind of ceremony decorations?  My bouquet was somewhere around $175-200, can't remember exactly.  BMs were somewhere around $75.  Bouts were around $10.

Your best bet is to go around to a few florists and tell them what you're looking for and let them give you a price.
  • I am getting way more than that for 2800$. I booked with AW Flowers.
  • I definitely recommend shopping around, metropolitan plant exchange told me i couldn't get what i wanted for less than $5k (they were one of the last florists i saw so i already knew this wasn't true).
