Unique wedding venue and reception

I don't want to get married at your typical church and hall. Can anyone give you unique wedding venue and ceremony ideas for about 200 people that doesn't cost an arm and a leg? Or if you had your wedding at a unique spot tell me about it! I have looked into the Rust Belt in Ferndale, and I love it, but for the amount of people, lack of parking, ect, it doesn't seem ideal. I want something that is fun, unique, and beautiful in it's own way. Looking at a wedding is Sept........Oh and also.....Something that isn't just few hours. We want to party all night!

  • I'm getting married at the lake nepessing boat club in lapeer. Not sure if how far your willing to travel but I live out here and most of my family is coming in from Macomb county. It has a lake feel with an outdoor pavilion (ceremony) and indoor reception area. 200 people, and very affordable to rent. You can bring in your own caterer and alcohol, saving a lot. Krista is the person you'll contact. She's really nice.

  • I was just looking for my son. Check into the Summit in Canton. http://leisure.canton-mi.org/summit/banquet.aspx. I didn't price it out, but it is different. Also, Indian Springs with the Metroparks. Fabulous building, different, the only issue is that you have to use their caterer, Kosch. A couple of years ago Kosch was getting bad reviews, but from the reviews on Weddingchannel.com they appear to have improved. http://www.metroparks.com/Indian-Springs-Metropark. If you google pictures of weddings there, they are beautiful.
