Bridal Gown Alteration recommendations??

Has anyone had their wedding gown altered at a place they didnt get their wedding dress from? I am looking for a well-priced, but well experienced and trustworthy alterations place around the Hudson County ( or in Hoboken, Jersey City, Weekhawken, West New York etc)... I refused to pay $700 at Kleinfelds and even one place in Hoboken that told me with lace and beading it would be around $580! There has to be some place that is great and less than that right??

    I had mine done in Sussex County.  It wasn't much: new zipper, a few added buttons & the actual hem / bustle & it was $400 so $580 doesn't sound all that bad.  Happy shopping.

    Just for my bustle and hem it is going to $500 so $580 sounds pretty reasonable when you are adding lace and beading to it.

    I got my dress at Kleinfeld's as well and I'm balking at the alterations cost.  RK Bridal charges $400 flat, not sure if we can bring our Kleinfeld dresses there or not.

    She's been doing my families alterations for years and my sister had her dress and bustle done there. 
    She charged my sister around $250 to take the whole dress up from the waist because she couldn't cut 
    the hem because of the lace and beading on the bottom of the dress.

    Memories Bridal in Ridgefield have a great alternations department. The owner Reem makes custom dresses and she will be doing mine. I ended up buying my dress there so the alternations were included and I am not sure what the full cost would be, but its worth checking them out!
