Day-of transportation for guests

Hi all - does anyone have recommendations for bus or shuttle services to get guests from hotel to ceremony and back again?

Our ceremony and reception are both taking place in Highland Park (St Paul), but we have a lot of out of town guests that will be staying in downtown St Paul. I'd love for them not to have to rent cars!

  • Come on, anyone?
  • Have you checked with your hotel to see if they have a shuttle?  you can also check out http://www.ridewithstar.com/limo-fleet.asp
  • We ended up going with a mix of Gray Line transportation and shuttles from our hotels (Doubletree and St Paul Hotel). Gray Line has been awesome to work with and is very reasonably priced! We could have even gone with renting school busses to make it even cheaper, but their coach busses were a pretty good deal.

Northfield Lines does a reat job of (herding cats) getting the wedding party or guests or both to and fom sections of the celebration. I'd contact them for at least a quote, I mean, it's a start, right?

The busses and tour vans are very nice, plush, air-conditioned/heated.

  • Out of curiosity, what was the pricing like? We are entertaining the same idea for guests as the majority will be out of town.
  • It was so worth it! We did have to cut costs elsewhere in order to fit it into the budget, but guests were super appreciative. I think that we paid the $200 for the St. Paul Hotel Shuttle and $150 for the Doubletree shuttle. They did continuous loops between the reception venue and the hotel for the last two hours of the reception. We used Gray Line for the bus that took guests from the hotels to the reception and then to the ceremony, and it was $535 for their 4 hour minimum. Here's what Gray Line sent me as far as pricing info:

"The two hour minimum for a 27 passenger trolley is $675 total, which includes all costs minus any driver gratuity you may offer.  This also gives you access to the trolley for as many stops/shuttles as needed with the time you have the bus rented.  We do have 50+ passenger motor coaches, and they have a four hour minimum of $535 and each additional hour is $71.28.  The 25-29 passenger mini coaches have a four hour minimum of $405 and each additional hour is $64.80. For a school bus, two hour minimum is $194.40 and each additional hour is $59.40."

  • Awesome! That is a lot less than what I was finding online.  Definitely something we'll look into.  Thanks :)
