I took my girlfriend to a fundraising dinner, and she ditched me the entire night for some guy she met there. Fine, whatever. I can handle being ditched.

Well when I tell her I'm tired (at after 11 pm) she says she's not ready to go yet and whatshisface will drive her back to my place. I said okay, but then decided to go a few doors down for a beer with another couple of my friends. She shows up not 5 minutes later asking for the key to my house to let herself in. She's tired. Fine, give her the key, say I'll be home in 20 minutes.

I get home, she's not fucking there. So I call her, where are you? At the front with (I don't remember his name), I'll let you in in 30 seconds. 7 minutes later I goto the front, she's still in his car laughing away. So I knock on the window and she's all flirty giggling "Oh haha. I guess I forgot to let you in." I was like, "this is not funny, I'm fucking angry." It's after 12:30 at this point, I need to be at work at 7. So I went to my bedroom and I can hear her downstairs on the phone "I'm sorry for my friends embarassing outburst."

How fucking inconsiderate is it to leave me standing outside my fucking house while you try to seal the deal on a new guy? PLUS! He's got a (ETA: LIVE IN) girlfriend. Friend doesn't care.

FI isn't home yet, but I'm shaking with anger. I guess y'all think I'm angry a lot. I'm just. Ugh. Please done hate me because all it appears I do is rant.

ETA: TK and it's bloody paragraph problems are not helping my anger subside.ETA Again: TK finally gave my paragraphs back.

Re: NWR: Inconsiderate People

  • I would be annoyed, too, but I also would never have given her my key. I would have told her she could just wait a few more minutes with me until I left.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

  • I hate girls who throw people under a bus when a guy comes around. I used to have a friend that would tell embarrassing stories about me to the guy she wanted to bang because she wasn't very pretty and she was insecure about it. The key here is that I used to have this friend.

Sorry, that sounded like a sucky night :(

  • I see being annoyed at her statement, but she only technically made you 7 minutes late getting into bed? You decided on your own to go for another beer after you were already tired...

Definitely never cool to shit on your friends just to try and get with some guy. And she sounds super inconsiderate regardless what time you got to bed.

  • I wouldn't be partying with this "friend" anytime soon unless it's with the understanding that you're each taking care of your own arrangements and are just meeting up.

Oh, sorry if there was a misunderstanding. I'm okay with going to bed late, I'm mad she left me standing outside my own house after demanding i give her my key so she could get in.

Yeah, that's why I say I would never have given up my keys. I am anal about keeping my keys with me.

  • I would be very annoyed as well. What makes it worse is that it was YOUR house!

I had a friend who this reminds me of. Let's call her Amy. She had never been a "good" friend, always taking advantage of my generosity. She moved to our school in seventh grade. I befriended her. But from that point all the way up until we were 21, every time someone "better" came along, she would ditch me. She really just started only calling me to buy her alcohol.

My tipping point was the night we went out for one of our best friends 21st birthday. Her new group of friends called and she just left the bar and disappeared. She was supposed to stay at my apartment so I tried to call her to see when she would be there. She doesn't answer. So I finally text her and told her that I was going to bed, my apartment was locked, and I will see her some time later for her to get her stuff. She shows up at 6 am to get ready for work. After that we cut ties and haven't spoken in two years.

As much as I cared for her and wanted to be a good friend, sometimes when relationships aren't mutually beneficial, you have to move on. I'm sorry your friend treated you like this.

K yeah that part's definitely bullshit. Although I wouldn't have given my keys to her either because I'd be scared she was trying to go bang in my bed.

  • Ugh, how annoying! I agree with emmaaa about mutually beneficial relationships. As I've gotten older I've gotten much "pickier" about my friends. Although I only have a few very close friends, I know that I can trust and rely on them and they can trust/rely on me too!

  • @lolo883 .... That thought never crossed my mind. Well... now I'm a little happy she didn't go in my house lol
  • Yea that is really inconsiderate. I would be annoyed, myself. Is she always like this? And btw, the guy sounds like a real winner!
