Thing my SO does that makes me smile later

I was listening to the radio and this song "Whatever It Is" by Zac Brown Band came on. When my SO heard it the first time, he thought they said "one of those innies" (like a bellybutton), so now every time he hears it he sings it that way. He also sometimes just randomly breaks out with it even when it's not playing. When I heard it come on the radio, I couldn't help but smile because all I could hear was my SO singing "one of those innies".

Anyone else have any stories about little things their SO does that make them smile later?

Re: Thing my SO does that makes me smile later

  • H makes these random voices to imitate his students because they are all going through puberty and it makes me laugh so hard. So whenever he texts me about school or something to do with his students, I always imagine him saying it in that voice and I laugh about it randomly haha.

Also, the song "Team" by Lorde, he knows the whole entire song by heart which in itself cracks me up and he will sing it in the pretend voice of his students...I die every time the song comes on the radio lol. I call it, "His Song" lol
  • H's first language in Hindi so I have so many funny moments with him where he is trying to say somthing in English and it comes out all wrong. I'm pretty good at figuring out what he is trying to say most of the time. One time he was so, so, so earnestly trying to tell me we had to take a trip to Abu Dabu and how great he heard it was...he went on and on and on while I was trying to figure out what he meant because I knew he didn't mean Abu Dahbi.  Eventually I had to stop him and ask, "you mean Bora Bora?" ...it still makes us laugh because he was so into this Abu Dabu country and so excited.  He does it with song lyrics ALL the time too (I've never heard him get lyrics right other than a few 80s songs).  I mean, completely nonsensical lyrics that he makes up.  It cracks me up in the car.  He says he does it on purpose now to make me laugh but I highly doubt it.  :)
  • @southernpeach89 That's really funny. I can see why that would make you laugh.

When I'm "mimicking" my SO, I always talk in this high-pitched voice. His voice is a "manly" voice, so it makes no sense when I do that. The other day I was mimicking his thoughts (meaning I was saying stuff that I thought he was thinking) and he said that I need a different voice for his thoughts because he got confused on what he was thinking and saying.

FI likes to imitate Gollum/Stitch (from Lilo and Stitch) a lot. He'll say really crude stuff too in those voices like, "Fuck me in the ass!" just to make me laugh, and he'll also stay stuff about them dirty hobbitses stealing his precious. He also likes to "serenade" me when slow songs come on. He won't sing along, he'll just say "ohhh whoaaa whoa" to the beat and do the dramatic hand gestures and stuff. He also likes to tackle me and tickle me. His latest tickling obsession is my hip bones. He sings, "the hip bone's connected to the tickle bone! The tickle bone's connected to the goober bone!" We also chase each other around the house and have taint attack wars. Those can get violent though... he has a tendency to pin me down to tickle me, but ever since I started working out, I've been able to fight back... one time, I used my feet to shove him away and he flew into the foot of the bed and hit his head. My bad! We're pretty goofy together. :-P

  • H and I talk about poop a lot too.... Obviously since I talk about on here a bunch lol. He calls it his potty time and I call it my morning Meghan time. We are very serious about our bathroom times.
  • Aw, I wish FI was more comfortable talking about poop. He's adamant that we maintain some level of mystery in our relationship, so no bathroom talk or using the restroom in front of each other. He won't even let me see him pee. When he needs to poop, he'll shut every door in the apartment in between me and the bathroom so I don't hear him. He's such a goober.

OMG!  I thought BF and I were the only weirdos that taint attack each other!  Although we call it it "taint booping."  As in, one person goes in for the attack and the other tries to escape while yelling "No!  No taint boops!!"  BF also LOVES LoTR.  Perhaps he and your FI are long lost brothers or something.

As for something BF does that makes me smile: "I'm Yours" by Jason Mraz is 'our song' so whenever it comes on his pandora station, he'll take a screen shot of his phone and text it to me.  He also likes to randomly text me links to YouTube videos of cheesy love songs.  Last night it was "Love of a Lifetime" by Firehouse.

  • BF likes to talk in different accents, and he is so. good. at. it. I don't know how he does it. I was telling him the other day about my conference call with people in Dresden, Germany, and he just started talking in a German accent that sounded EXACTLY like the accent of the people I was talking to over the phone. I looked over at him and asked "Did you wiretap my office phone?". He also does an awesome impression of Melvin from Office Space. He makes me laugh every time he busts that one out.

BF and I are complete weirdos too. We "nom" each other. For example, if he won't get up in the morning, I go over to him and starting play biting (with my lips covering my teeth, so no actual biting occurs) and just saying "nom nom nom nom nom" as I do it. He does the same thing to me. It's pretty much our way of getting the other's attention if they are on their computer or phone. He also decided the other night that he was going to "boop" my head with the pizza box, and I literally ran all over the apartment trying to prevent him from doing so. He won hahaha.
