Wedding Woes

Thank you Friday

It took forever to get here, but thank goodness it's here.  What's up for the weekend?

We actually have nothing on the schedule.  There's a free kidfest thing I sort of want to hit tomorrow, but DH kind of wants to go to a county fair.  It's supposed to rain though.  I also thought about looking for some way to pack food for 6let's lunches.  We are living it up over here.

The Woozle has her swim evaluation tomorrow, and we give it 50/50 whether she'll be promoted to the next level.  My mom is coming to celebrate my birthday (a couple of weeks afterward--it's been a crazy few weeks for both of us) and see the new house.  DD has a birthday pool party to go to, and they're calling for rain here, too, so I hope it's not rained out.  Perpetually unpacking.  And getting ready to head to the beach in a week.  My head is already there--I just booked this dolphin cruise thing so the kids can see actual dolphins in their natural habitat, not just an aquarium/dolphin show.  I think I'm as excited about it as Wooz is.
ETA:  she came home from school yesterday with a picture she drew of some fish, a jellyfish, and a whale, and had written "I LOVE SE CRETRS" [I love sea creatures] on it.
  • Nothing planned here, for once.

I need to take Son clothes shopping, but not this weekend.  It's tax free weekend and the stores will be crazy.  So not worth it.

Oh, I want the dolphin cruise!

My parents are taking Buffy today, to the fair.  I'm getting her back tomorrow morning, then she goes to see my sister (post sister's race--she's working on qualifying for the Boston Marathon and is doing awesome). So I'm going to be driving around, but having some kid-free time.

The Mr. and I have to repair a leaky shower, which sunds like oodles of fun, no?
I"m still recovering from vacation and think that getting some extra sleep can help keep the headache at bay--so I"m planning on  napping daily.

Agreed 1000%.  We have that here, and it's always mobbed.  Our sales tax is somewhere <7%, I can save a lot more than that online with a promo code, you know?
  • We got the inspection report back on our house and there's only one thing that needs to be resolved.  And it's easy.  We also have to install a garage door opener.  FIL is coming over to help DH do that tomorrow and then we're going to eat dinner at the IL's.

Sunday, we're going to start packing.  We're going to try to get down to the nitty gritty here.  We don't want to be crazy at the last minute.

I'm probably going to take the kiddo out shopping for a few supplies and some clothes.  MIL took him out and bought him shoes yesterday.
  • I'm feeling sad this morning over the whole resignation thing.  So, I went and blocked the people who were the worst about torturing me (the woman who called me Hitler and accused me of stealing money, the man who personally attacked me on FB, maybe 1-2 others).  I feel better now.  :D

I'm cleaning my house from top to bottom, canning, and reorganizing my life this weekend.  I need to get myself back on track and I'm going to do it.  Put all of the energy I was expending on the group back into my life and improving it.

  • We are planning on going to a festival tomorrow.  There is a band playing there tomorrow night that we like.  Sunday is church and hanging out.

  • I have to work today, but i'm basically the only person here, so it's been quiet. I'll probably take a long-ish lunch and go out somewhere after the pilates class at our gym.

The gym where Wolverine goes for gymnastics classes is having a Parents' Night Out, tonight, so DK and I are going out for dinner and a movie. They do 1-2x per month, so it's been a nice way for us to get more date nights in. Cost is also very reasonable - $26 for 4 hours, including dinner.  The only difficulty is that the days and times vary (sometimes Saturday, sometimes Friday, starting as early as 6, and as late as 7:15/7:30), so it can be a little difficult to do more than one thing, especially depending on movie start times and lengths, or the amount of drive time to get to a new restaurant.

We're going to a double birthday party, tomorrow - I think it's supposed to rain, but not until after the (pool) party.
  • We're hoping to get some pool time in on Saturday or Sunday.  This is our "last weekend of summer" since DD starts school on Monday.
The only other things on our to do list for the weekend is getting DD's clothes ready for the week (thankfully she wears uniforms) and her lunches.
Come Sunday night I have a feeling I will be in a major slump.  I am so sad my baby is a big girl.  :(

  • I need a vacation from my family. I love these fuckers, but they are working my nerves. I got an email from a company that is local to me asking if I was interested in a position. It is more responsibility, probably more pay, but I may have a wicked commute. I asked about working from home part time. So I may end up doing some resume work this weekend. No idea what else we will do. It's my birthday month (yes, I'm secretly 12) so I plan on having fun. Maybe buying wine this weekend. I need to restock my wine fridge.

I finally got my dryer back and in full working order.  You should have seen the stuff that came out of the dryer ducts!  It was all a sopping wet mess and came apart in 2 places while he was trying to clean it out.  Loads are drying so fast it's like a whole new machine.
