Have any of you ladies heard about this? I read the article and was just flabbergasted at the nerve of the hotel. Further, why would ANY wedding couple sign a contract with this place given those terms?

I think it is absolutely ridiculous. No way would I sign a contract like that. Obviously though some people do and it is kinda their own fault. It does say something about how shitty the hotel is if they need to issue such a clause in their contracts in order to affect their reviews. They sight decor as a reason people may not like it, but the reviews kinda speak to the service and staff.... Sounds like a bad hotel to me.

I agree on both counts @gothic_fairy60 . Who in their right minds signs this contract in the first place? And how in the world does the hotel think that the proper response to bad reviews about customer service is to threaten the reviewers?

Some people don't even read contracts when they sign, as sad (and stupid) as that is. The hotel trying to control their reviews totally shot themselves in the foot with this stunt; it got them a ton of publicity for being a shitty hotel. Rather than just 1 bad review that most people would probably never read, now they're in news stories, blog posts, message boards, etc etc. Gotta love the karma. Haha. Jerks.
