Now we got a "maybe" RSVP...

...and I'm so happy about it! A dear friend of mine is in the process of adopting a child through the foster care system. They're supposed to get their licence in late August, and she was told they could have a child anywhere from 3 days to a few weeks after that. She has 2 little boys now (one biological, one adopted) and is such an incredible mother. She has had a few miscarriages, including one that nearly killed her, and wants a little girl so badly but is opening her home to whoever she can help, after moving to a particularly rough part of town and seeing how miserable it is for so many kids there. She just has such a pure, genuine, loving heart and I'm so excited for her!

I told her under no circumstances was she to worry about "wasting my money" (her words) by not showing up to the reception, and that I would fit her in at the very last minute if it turned out she and her husband could make it.

That's so great! And I'm jealous-- we counted on 3 for friends who are trying to adopt. They thought they were getting a little boy but it fell through a couple of days before we sent out invitations. I got the call after I sent out an invitation with the child's name on it. So sad for them

Wow! I have so much respect for people who do that.

We have a "maybe" too, because a close friend of mine just gave birth so she doesn't know if she can attend with her husband or not yet. She gets an extension on the RSVP deadline

I had a few maybes- 2 very good friends who were about to give birth. Neither was able to make it because they both had beautiful, healthy baby girls. I was pretty stoked.

Good for your friend, there aren't enough people in the world who are that compassionate.

We have another maybe from a pregnant cousin whose due date is 5 days after our wedding. She said as long as she hasn't actually had the baby yet, she's coming. I told her if she goes into labor at our wedding she has to name the baby after one of us.

We have another maybe from a pregnant cousin whose due date is 5 days after our wedding. She said as long as she hasn't actually had the baby yet, she's coming. I told her if she goes into labor at our wedding she has to name the baby after one of us.

I had a friend who gave birth the morning of my wedding, In her case it was if the baby came early (but not too early) they would come. I kept telling her I wouldn't get mad if she went into labor on the dance floor.

Haha... I have another friend who isn't due until 2 weeks after our wedding, but it's her third and I think the first 2 came a bit early. She said she's hoping to dance the baby out.

My friend was just way too close to her due date and the wedding was extremely (like a few hundred miles) outside of the range she was allowed to be from the hospital.
