Wedding Invitations & Paper

confused and could use some help

I am working on the wording of the invitations for my fall wedding and am unsure of how to proceed.

My mom is contributing some and his father indicated so as well. We will be paying for the majority of the

wedding. We each only have the one said parent and I am confused about wording the invitation.

The draft is as follows:

the pleasure of your company is requested

at the marriage of

Bride (full name)

to

Groom(full name)

friday, the seventh of November

two thousand fourteen

at six o'clock in the evening

venue

street address

city,state

reception immediately following

would this be appropriate or should I include the line:

together with their families

Any input on how I have worded it or what I should do would be appreciated.

thank you

Re: confused and could use some help

  • Who is hosting the wedding? Who is paying/contributing does not always equal who is hosting. If your families are co-hosting with you (greeting guests, tending to their needs, answering questions, etc.) you can use "together with their families." Otherwise I think you're fine.

  • Your current draft indicates that you and your groom are hosting. If that's the case, it's totally fine.

If your parents are hosting, "Together with their parents" is a nice catch-all.
