Priest can't remember my name!!

So, my fiance and I met with our priest tonight. We have never met him before and he is a very nice, retired Catholic priest. We liked a lot of the ideas he had for the ceremony, we will be doing things a little differently than in other ceremonies I have attended. The only problem is he kept calling me "Amy" not "Hayley". We even corrected him and spelled my name for him. He got it right a few times, then went back to "Amy". I am freaking out a little that he is not going to get it right during the ceremony. Anyone have this situation? Not sure if we should just keep reminding him up to the big day? Maybe talk to the coordinator at the church? :(

Re: Priest can't remember my name!!

  • So when you're standing at the altar, whip out a name tag and slap it on your dress where he can see it. (We all carry stuff like this in our bras, right? I know you have room for one.) No one else has to see it, except your soon-to-be husband, who will want to know that he is marrying the right woman and not getting Leah when he thought he was getting Rachel. So not good!
  • what does your dress look like? can you do something like this?

  • I always wanted to get a tattoo!
  • At my friends wedding he called the groom the wrong name a few times. It was still a beautiful beautiful ceremony and wedding, you just haveto laugh it off if it happens

I went to a funeral where the pastor kept referring to my aunt (the surviving spouse of the dead guy) by my uncle's first (now dead) wife's name.  It was incredibly awkward.
  • My father-in-law called my SIL's (now-ex)husband by the wrong name several times during his toast at their wedding.  People were dying trying not to laugh, my SIL looked like she wanted to crawl under the table, and FIL plowed on.

They were divorced 18 mo. later.
