Wedding Woes

It's Friday!

Thank good ness for the iPad. I'm taking the laptop in for a cleaning and wouldn't want to miss anything. What's up for the weekend? We have nothing on the books maybe hair cuts, fishing, food truck festival? I have been productive the last couple days and need to keep it up- laundry done and put away, lots of tomato sauce made, house cleanish, getting a little pay. Booking family pictures, submitting permit paperwork for the addition......

Re: It's Friday!

  • DefConn and I are heading to a family wedding reception (Saturday afternoon), family dinner (Saturday night), and baby shower (Sunday morning) in the Chicago area.  My parents are driving us.  YAY, because I hate driving.

DH has to work  (more he has to sit at work and make sure contractors do what they're supposed to and don't steal any of the $10M in warehouse inventory) and is keeping the kiddo.  They're going to do 'guy stuff'.  I'm glad I don't have to have the 2 kids alone.  It's always more stressful than fun.
  • I'm going dress shopping with my sister tomorrow.  We first went a couple weeks ago and she thought she found "the one" but decided against it a few days later.  We knew she couldn't find it after only one outing.  :)

Nothing planned for Sunday.  Son has baseball tryouts so I'll just hang out with the girls.

Have I mentioned lately how much I hate health insurance? 10 minutes on hold for the third time about a problem that apparently is an issue with a great number of people.
  • 6, I'm curious what the issue is.  I'm just nosy, that is more the truth.

I'm sore, and tired---and have a headache.  Not sure what the issue is, but I'm here at work, working-ish.  :)  I have my list and pile of things to do.  That'll take me up to when I need to go home.

On the docket for the weekend:

    1.  Long run with Dad
    2.  Yardwork
    3.  Get nails done
    4.  Clean my pigsty of a house

I don't really know. I had some lab work done. The eob says nothing was really covered and I owe $548. Insurance says things are not populating in the right column and the lab can't see that things were paid and I should owe $23. Apparently there is a 9 page list of people that are having the same issue.
  • We are doing absolutely nothing this weekend, and it will be wonderful.  The kids need some downtime after all the moving and travel and everything.  I'll unpack as I can, but mostly sleeping in, lazy breakfasts, and taking them to the pool.
  • NICE, reallly nice.  I suppose this "issue" is creating a lot of job security for some (unwanted of course).  I had so many statements come from one doctor's appointment and script inquiry (about 4 for one script inquiry for pricing) it was ridiculous. I just leave them in a nice little pile until I get about 6-8 weeks out and then reconcile in my mind.
  • Also, random, but Target's Sweet Cajun Trail Mix is incredibly addictive.  Sweet, spicy, salty, perfect.

Have you tried Wonderful Sweet Chili pistachios?  Same thing.  DH and I keep a bag in the house all.the.time.

  • It's been a rather overwhelming week.  I have been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes and have had a bunch of appointments, started on a medication and learned how to check my blood sugars.  Ultimately, it's a good thing as it forces me to eat better, exercise, etc.  But it's been a stressful week.

This might be mighty of me, but I'm taking credit for telling you to try those, Conn.  :)
  • I'm sorry MNNE!  That sucks.  Good luck with managing your treatment.  Luckily, there's a ton of resources out there to help you.
  • Sorry to hear that, MNNE.  :(
  • Sorry, MNNE.

I don't know what we're doing this weekend.  We're starting a 30 day vegetarian challenge, just for fun and new recipes, so I'll be putting together the menu and doing some grocery shopping.  All the other stuffs we do on the weekend.
