mgm skyline terrace

i remember when i first started planning my vegas wedding a few other brides saying they had the skyline terrace suite booked for their in suite reception. i haven't read any reviews on anyone actually following thru with it. just wondering if any upcoming brides are booked here or if there's any recent reviews on using this suite.

Re: mgm skyline terrace

  • We had our reception in one, it was amaze! You should be able to find my review on here. Also if you look here http://www.littlevegaswedding.com/category/in-suite-reception/#.U8NUJNq9KSM :-)

  • We are planning our's for the Skyline Terrace in early October.  :D  Hoping everything goes okay, but I've heard it generally goes off without a hitch.  Our only worry was that we couldn't afford to get it both the day before and they day of the wedding.  We are using Masterpiece Catering (they have been wonderful and had outstanding reviews).
  • When in October thats when I'm doing mine!
  • Booked a terrace suite for July 11 2015 wedding. So excited!

  • How much was the suite for the evening? Has anyone heard of any issues with the hotel when holding a reception there?

  • It's ranged 600-1400. I haven't heard any complaints.
  • Just wondering -- for those that booked the Terrace Suite, are you going to stay in the suite overnight? Or is it just for the evening?

  • We are staying over night. We unfortunately are not staying the night before in the suite which I know helps a lot. But we are staying in the same hotel the rest of our time.
  • This may sound silly, but with save the dates, wedding websites, and invites - do you know how far in advance you should book? Is there a view request/preference or will the $20 Vegas trick work?

"will the $20 Vegas trick work"

Depends entirely on the person you get and availability of the hotel.  Note:  CP front desk clerks are not allowed to take tips before the transaction but can take tips afterwards.  Still, it helps to show tipping intent before the transaction begins.
  • I'm having my ceremony in the suite (then down to Pucks for a meal & wedding cake), but we will probably need some food and drinks for lunch and some refreshments before the ceremony as we aren't eating until 8pm and we are doing a Strip photo tour at 3pm - 6pm.

There are 10 of us, so I'm thinking of just using Jason Deli as I've read good reviews about it, but I am slightly nervous about the whole thing. Also walking to ABC store or another on Strip store and buying some cheap(er) alcohol.

I'm scheduled for mid-September so can give some feedback then!

I did look into the MGM Grand catering options but it seemed crazy expensive and the rules about the reception are ridiculous in terms of costs (deposit, cleaning costs, minimum costs etc.)
  • I think Jason's deli is a great idea. If you are worried about the food, there are other Italian sub shops in Vegas. When you are at the liquor store you can also buy a couple bags of chips. If you keep it simple it will be less stressful.
  • @ambularnubular, I cannot hear about your ceremony! You're doing exactly what we're seriously considering!

I've never heard anything bad about Skyline Terrace suites, and I'm super excited.

  • Hello! Does anyone know how big the fridge is in the suite? I wanted to know how many things I can store in there.

I also have the suite booked for my wedding (10-5-15) and the day before. Yay!
  • I am just starting to plan and look around.. How many people can the Skyline Terrace hold for a reception like heaving apps and dancing?
