Wedding website on save-the-dates?

Hi!
I know you are supposed to put the wedding website on an insert for the actual invitations, and not on the invitations themselves, but what about save-the-dates? Are you allowed/should you print the website address on the STDs? They are just postcards so they won't have inserts. (This is for my sister's wedding, for which I am 1/2 MOH, by the way.) This is IF we manage to pull together enough information to put on the website before we send them out!!

Re: Wedding website on save-the-dates?

  • We put it on our STDs and not in with our wedding invitations.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

  • We put it on our STDs too. We haven't sent out invitations yet but we're planning on putting an insert in for those.

  • We had the URL printed on our STDates and did a business card sized insert for our invitations that had the website URL and an email address to contact if they needed more info.

  • OK, sounds good. Thanks for the responses! I just wanted to make sure we weren't doing anything rude.
  • No, it's not rude. I think it's helpful, since it allows people to start planning flights and hotels right away.

We did postcard STDs, and our wedding website was on the back along with a little note saying, "Hope you can make it!"

If she's doing magnets, you can either put it on the front or attach the magnet to a generic postcard that has the website on it.
  • We did magnet STDs and put our website URL at the bottom. STDs are informal and I've seen them done on just about every one that I have gotten. We're also putting our website URL on an enclosure card for our formal invites.
  • STDs are informal.  Printing them wedding website on them is fine.  Make sure she doesn't forget to put "Formal invitation to follow" on the STDs.

  • @CMGragain, yep! I got that from this board too; I did not know that was required but totally understand the logic.
@wrigleyville, our mom vetoed magnets. She tried to veto STDs at all, but 75% of the guest list is from out of town and it's a holiday weekend. So she was outvoted. Even our dad spoke up on that one!
