To wedge, or not to wedge?

Outdoor brides! I am getting married on a lawn, and think wedge shoes will be a must so I don't sink in the grass while walking down the aisle. However, I am not so sure wedges will work for dancing on my toes all night with my new hubby. Any shoe heel recommendations? Shoe styles? I think I have scrolled through all that zappos has to offer, with nothing catching my eye.

Re: To wedge, or not to wedge?

  • These could be an option to wear normal heals but still not sink: click here. You could wear them for the ceremony only then remove them for the reception / pictures. I thought they were a great idea. (I'm an engineer and every once in a while I find myself on a construction site in heels -- I have been meaning to get these and keep them in my purse).
  • You could always do wedges for the ceremony and sandals for the reception. I personally love wedges. Not sure why but they are much more comfortable (to me) than heels.
  • i wanted to do wedges, but couldn't find any cute ones in Royal Blue! So before you decide, try to see if there is a specific shoe in each style that you like, and go from there..some times wedges can look more casual, also...not sure the style of your wedding.

  • I would definitely wear wedges for the ceremony and then maybe sandals or slippers for the reception.  I changed to slippers for my reception and it was great.  I wouldn't have been able to dance in my shoes.

  • I wore low wedges for our outdoor ceremony and kept them on for the reception (Cole Haan Air Elly Criss Cross...so comfy I wore from 11am to 1am straight, they're not sold in stores anymore, although you may be able to find online.  I added a shoe clip).

Some of my BMs with heels wore the Sole Mates and they worked!
  • I am wearing these wedges by Franco Sarto.

They are the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn in my life (aside from my running shoes).
