Secrets are hard!

On Friday, my bridesmaid "W" told me she was 2 weeks pregnant and just found out - yay!  Today, bridesmaid "B" told me she was 8 weeks pregnant and just found out - also yay!  But I can't tell anyone yet for obvious reasons, and it's so hard because I'm the worst at keeping secrets.  I hope they share the good news with each other when we're all together this weekend.

Re: Secrets are hard!

  • Oh Slothie, I've missed you so!

OP that's SO EXCITING! I hate keeping pregnancy secrets. I do it, but I hate it!

  • 2 weeks?  Wow.   Seems a little early to be telling anyone, no?    8 weeks isn't so bad to me.

    Anyway, YAY.

My DH is so bad at telling secrets  I use to say I wouldn't even tell him I was pregnant until I was over 8 weeks.   Telling him means telling the world.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • Yay for babies! Hopefully they'll spill the beans to each other sooner rather than later and you'll be off the hook.

QFT! And God bless internet friends to share secrets with when it's not yet safe to IRL ;)

  • How wonderful!

I met up for lunch with one of my BMs without boys/kids so I could ask her to be a BM. She wanted to get together to tell me she was pregnant with twins (her second pair)! She's due in the next 3 weeks and I'm so excited!

Funny note: she was dealing with serious morning sickness when she met the other BMs for the first time. There were lots of looks between my FSIL/BMs because they though my sister and I were horrible people based on the jokes being made. We all forgot to tell them that she was pregnant!

Yeah, it's definitely early but we had just seen each other a few days before and we were talking about how she was trying. She doesn't have any sisters or a mom in her life, so I think it's just natural to want to tell someone (other than her husband).
  • Yay!!  That's so exciting.

My family is the worst at secrets.  My Granny will call me up, and spill the beans about something, but tell me not to tell anyone.  Then my Aunt calls and says the same thing.  When I talk to my Mom, she keeps it under wraps, though kind of pokes around to see if I know.  When I tell her that I know, she comes all out.  At least it's never been about anything serious though

  • Must be something in the water...two BMs?  Congrats to them!
