  • Yayyyyyy!! We haven't gotten ours yet - my birth certificate has disappeared and I'm now scrambling to get a certified copy. I can't believe we only have 37 days left!

I had to run to town hall yesterday to get a copy of mine!!! Thank god I still live close to where I was born. It only took a few minutes.
  • @ClimbingBrideNY I wish I could do that! I was born two hours from where I live and I could potentially drive out there next week (and I just may end up doing that). Instead I decided to order a copy online. Thought it would be no big deal. Well now it's turned into this huge ordeal, all because I have to get my mail at a PO Box (no delivery at my house). I'm ready to throw my hands up and drive 4 hours total to spend 5 minutes getting a new copy.
  • We took the cheesy pic, too!  Embrace it!

    Ugh!  That sucks!
  • I was shocked when we got ours last week...they didn't ask for any ID!! I had called beforehand to ask if I needed a birth certificate and she said "No, just something that proves you're 18". In the office she never asked. FI said maybe because we both have really good arm tattoos that prove we're 18 and went to legitimate artists to get them done? Haha

That reminds me - our officiant (who's a town justice) told us that a town over from ours is reallll lenient on their requirements for a marriage license. I maaaaaay have to give them a call to see what they tell me to bring and save myself all the hassle.
  • So exciting! I can't wait until we can get ours! Unfortunately, here in CO, there is a 35 day period that the license is valid. I guess that means we have to be patient for a bit longer...Boo!

  • Hooray!! :)

Then happy I, that love and am beloved

  • I bought mine today too! I won't be using it for 80 days, though (we can get them three months in advance in BC).

What state are you in?  We are in MD and we didn't need to bring anything!  Plus it is good for six months, so when we were in the area last Friday we stopped by to get it!  So easy.  Loved it.

Is it in the same county?  I know in MD your marriage license has to be from the county you are getting married in.  Bit of a hassle.  Marriage license laws seem very arbitrary.
  • We got ours on Monday of this week! Can't believe the wedding is so soon now!!!

  • @kla728 I'm in MA and usually they are so buy the book with everything, I was surprised that I didn't need any ID. Ours is only good for 60 days as well.
