Minister of the day or pick your own?

Hi All- Not sure if you've watched any of the videos of ministers at your venue online yet but if you haven't you should. I've checked out the Bellagios ministers and I'm not a fan of any of their services. I know that several people here have used and recommended Rev Roland (vegasgroom, missmo) but I never gave it much thought until I started watching services. I am so glad I watched them and didn't just take the minister of the day. I just heard back and Rev Roland is available on our date so I'm very excited! Here are a couple of videos of examples of the ministers I was looking at vs Rev Roland so you can see too. https://webcasting.cashmanpro.com/bg/watcharchiveevent.cfm?eventID=144269 https://webcasting.cashmanpro.com/bg/watcharchiveevent.cfm?eventID=144342 vs Themobileminister.com

Re: Minister of the day or pick your own?

  • How did that work with bellagio? Did they let you choose an option without any hassle?
  • Does rev Roland work at bellagio? I liked the old guy at the aria better but the new one doesn't seem awful. I've seen the bellagio people before and agree with you. Over the top and the guy I saw reminded me of a southern preacher

  • @trm358 My contact at Bellagio said "For the officiant, he has to be licensed in the state of Nevada and provide us with a copy of this license."   So it's not a problem.

@Rosebubbly Rev Roland is not one of the regulars at Bellagio he's independent will marry you anywhere.  Yeah, southern preacher is a good description, not the right fit for us!  Glad you like the guy at Aria.

  • If you want to see our ceremony PM me and I'll send you a link; Rev Roland was great. We just had anniversary dinner with him a few weeks ago.

  • Flamingo told me it would be an extra $150 to either bring my own officiant, or even to reserve a particular one of theirs! I'm thinking right now I'll just use whoever they assign, but it does make me nervous!
  • I never even thought about this. Treasure Island doesn't really give you any options as far as that goes. Honestly, I really don't care. A minister would have to be pretty out there, crazy, over the top, rude, or weird to upset me. I have faith that they are not employing weirdos to do wedding ceremonies.
  • Im just going with whoever the Flamingo provide... Im not paying ANOTHER $150 to bring in my own... and I don't really care. they would have to be pretty bad for me to be upset.. and even then, ill put it down to a quirk of the day!
  • I felt exactly like that @australiansam and @myriah505, I didn't think it was big deal either.  I stumbled upon vegasgroom's opinion at the bottom of this page and it started me thinking and then I started watching videos just like he did.  Given the ton of the $ we're already spending I didn't think the additional $150 was too much to spend but that's just me.

  • I have to agree with kris based on some of the over the top preachers I've seen in the Vegas vids...none at aria thankfully. Also run across some who seem very mechanical because they've been probably been doing it 5 times a day every day for 20 years
