Body Positive

Below are a couple of websites with photographs of real women of all shapes and sizes.  I just thought it was helpful to see that my body is not weird, other women have similar areolas/nipples, bellies, etc. as me.  Warning, though, that the sites are NSFW.

  • Yay! Tag for after dinner. I will post another one in a bit that I used to look at as I was recovering from my eating disorder. It helps a lot.

BTW i'm not even attempting weight loss for my wedding! I will wear my new chub proudly.

  • I struggle with this, so I loved these! They all look so comfortable in their own skin, it's wonderful!

  • I sort of had an epiphany recently, and it all came from dress shopping.  I went dress shopping before i lost the 10-20 pounds I wanted to lose first... and I tried on a form fitting dress, which I definitely DID NOT want to do... but I did it, and I never felt like my body was better looking.  I had a butt, and curves! I didn't have the epiphany then... instead I had it when I googled my dress to see it on the models.. and I realized... it looks WORSE on someone who's stick skinny... and maybe.. just maybe I don't want to lose weight!!!

  • I love the body positive movement. It makes me sad to see that many people are against it.

I felt the exact same way!!!  I had been so worried and then it was such a positive experience.

  • @jcbride2015 amazing, right!? Such a good day!

  • I love these photos, and initiatives like this. I finally found someone who slightly resembled me (even down to the belly piercing). I find a lot of these sorts of collections tend towards the "real women have curves" line, implying that I'm not a woman because I can't put on weight. It really grinds my gears. But this one had a really good range of shapes and sizes.

    Blech.

As a naturally thin girl, those sites always make me feel so shitty and self-conscious about my body, especially the Body Gallery. Looking at the pictures of girls my height and weight they look so sickly and boney. It makes me want to cover up and hide my obviously deformed limbs.
