I'm interested because I personally love glow sticks - I am not sure if it's really something to have a wedding.
I am just looking to add some fun elements for later on at night.

    In my opinion, glow sticks equate high school prom. I'm not having them because it's an item that's going to be thrown away and I don't feel like throwing money away. We're having a great DJ, great friends, and an open bar. We don't need glow sticks to add to the reception.

    I'm with this. If you want something 'fun,' how about a midnight snack. Like pizza or something when it gets later. I would never wear a glow stick but I do love pizza :)

    They make me think rave party, not high school, but either way, not my thing for a classy affair.  Now, if you're having a late night afterparty, or a clubby vibe, perhaps it could make sense.  It's a preference thing.  Not my preference, but if it makes you happy, rock it.

    I don't think it's tacky per se, but you need to know your crowd.  If your wedding guest list includes a lot of older family members, I'd skip it.  If it is going to be a happening party, go for it.

    If you have wiggle room in your budget, NBD.  BUT, if you have to choose between glow sticks and an upgraded dessert bar, go for the food.

    I think if its in you budget and your going to have a drunken crazy party sure go for it. However I agree upgrading the food is a more appealing option, plus if I went to a wedding I would remember the food and drinks over having glowsticks.

    We had glow necklaces, glow bracelets and a midnight snack. It was on the 3rd of July in-conjunction with the fireworks, so it made sense. If you want them and it's your style then go for it. 

    While glow sticks may be tacky-gaudy, they are not tacky-rude. So if you want them, you are not being rude by providing them :)

    I agree with this.   

    It's more not my style, but not rude in anyway. 






    What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
