Rehearsal dinner help! Please!

I am so tired of dealing with the rehearsal dinner. It has been a ton of drama and my FI and I are done with it. We are now thinking about renting a Dan's Deli truck or taco truck and a shelter house at a park and having a big picnic with Bocci ball and horseshoes and badmitton. However, we would like to have a keg or some kind of aocohol available. Does anyone know a park/shelter/lodge that we are able to rent that allows alcohol? Or a way to get around the issue?
Thanks so much ladies!! I'm just at my wit's end!

What about doing a backyard BBQ with some beer and other drinks? Do you know anyone that would be willing to let you use their yard, deck or patio?

You are not allowed to have any alcohol at state parks. Do you know anyone that lives in a development that has a club house that can be reneted out? My husband's parents live west of Columbus and their neighborhood has two shelter houses that can be rented out to residents and non-residents. I know you are allowed to have alcohol there. We considered having our reception there but decided against it b/c we would of had to hire caterers and do all of the clean-up.

I hear ya on the rehearsal dinner! We just decided yesterday that we are going to do Roosters. We called and no reservations ,no picking a menu. They just want a representative to be there to hold tables as they open up within the hour before our party. So much less stress, and more of our style! Good luck

We do not know anyone who can do that and my FMIL does not want to do it at her house even though it's like 5 min from the church...
We know we can't at stare parks but I didn't know if anyone knew of a city park that would allow it.
MissySue- what is the name of the development where your In-laws live?

We just booked ours at Spaghetti Warehouse.  Per person rates start at $13 and go up to $18.  This price includes choice of entree, salad, bread, soft drink, and tax!!!!!  Pretty reasonable in my opinion.  And they have a private dining room.  We looked just about everywhere!

We decided to go the whole shelter house route and are getting food from Berwick Manor dropped off. I think it will be good for the guests to be able to play games and whatnot. I like your idea about the taco truck.

We ended up liking the no alcohol policy because we have a limited budget and a large invite list. Paying for two nights of drinking just wasn't feasible. Having it at a city park gave us the perfect excuse to make it fit closer to our budget and still allowed us to invite the huge amount of out of town guests that we wanted to invite. That may not have been the "way around the issue" you were looking for, but it might help.
