Mirage Penthouse Tower Suite (Pre-Party) – A+

My girls decorated the room and we had champagne and appetizers.  We had about 15 people in there and had plenty of room to mingle and sit.  It was perfect for a small group.  (Pics of the suite below)

China Poblano @ Cosmo (Dinner) – A

We had reservations for 14 for dinner at 6:30.  We arrived a little early, 6:20 and our table was ready.  We were seated right away and our server was there ready to take our drink order.   After a few drinks we ordered.  It’s a tapas place with Mexican and Chinese food.  We tried almost everything, tacos, guacamole, dim sum, noodles and chicken and beef dishes – everything was really good.  I think my favorite was the Mongolian Beef Lettuce.  Tapas were perfect for dinner, we are all satisfied, but not too full and we could keep the drinking going!

Thunder From Down Under @ Excalibur (Show) – B

12 of us went to the show and we had two tables of 6 near the middle.  We got there about 15 minutes before show time, the doors were open and there was a small line.  We found our table right away and a couple girls went to get in line at the bar to get drinks.  They only had about 2 servers walking around.  I thought for a show like this it would be easier to get drinks!  Then the show started!  Some of the guys looked like the photos, some did not at all!  The MC was hot and entertaining.  There was a guy with long hair that was very confident.  After they pulled the first few girls on stage I started taking off my bachelorette gear!  The girls that did go up, one got kissed, a few of the guys took their hands and put them down their pants!  I did get a hug from one of them; that was about all I could handle!  All in all it was fun show, we laughed and drank and had a good time, but I never need to go to back!

Freakin’ Frog Whiskey Tasting – A

(the guys did this while we did Thunder, review from hubby below)

The guys headed over to the Freakin’ Frog, an off-strip dive bar near UNLV with an extensive beer selection and a unique “Whisky Attic”.  Although I’m primarily a beer drinker, I decided it would be fun to try something new – a private whiskey tasting in the attic that came with a history of tasting techniques, a personalized flavor profile assessment for each attendee, and a selection of five tastings. Our guide, JD, was pretty entertaining and clearly knew his stuff, though he definitely talks a lot!

After the tasting, we headed downstairs for a few beers – the Frog has a solid tap selection and a ridiculous walk-in cooler filled with bombers and other bottles – and then caught some cabs back to the Strip.

Bourbon Room (After Party) – A+

We met up with the guys at Bourbon Room.  The girls and I had taken a limo from Excalibur over to Venetian so we are hyped up by the time we got there.  We walked in already dancing to the music and the MC brought us all up on stage to dance!  My sister had some left over glow stick bracelets so she was throwing those out to the crowd and the MC brought us over some shots to take.  The guys arrived and we all got drinks and danced.  Everyone there was so nice, the MC kept coming over and asking us about the wedding and whatnot so everyone there knew we were getting married on Saturday.  People were coming up and giving us hug and congratulating us and telling us about their weddings and how long they had been married.  It was a ton of fun!

Olympic Gardens (After After Party)– C

Ok, so this was never in the plans!  But as we drank at Bourbon Room some people dropped off and later in the night someone had the idea to go to Olympic Gardens.   We had about 10 left at this point and they sent a limo to pick us up.  Cover was $25 for everyone.   We all found seating downstairs where the girls are and ordered drinks.  A girlfriend and I went upstairs to the guys.  The guy dancing had on cargo shorts and no shirt, for $25 I had better see a g-string!  Ha-ha!

Peppermill (late night eats) – A+

Love this place for late night grub.  Four of us left the OG and headed here for late night food.  We were all pretty drunk at this point, but we still had good service and food came out fast.  I am always a sucker for the nachos late night!

Sounds like fun.  My girls want to do something fun like a male review for our girls night the night before.  It won't really be a bachelorete  party, but we are splitting girls and guys for a while.  I have a couple girls who have seen chippendales and loved the fun, so I was thinking american storm or thrunder from down under.  Reading your reviews makes me think maybe another round of chippendales would be best.
  • I think Chippendale's would have been the way to go!  You made the right choice!  :)

  • Riviera has MEN now too, wonder what that is like?

  • Probably worse. Riviera isn't known as a high-class joint anymore, and they have Crazy Girls, which advertises itself like this:

I can't imagine the men's revue being any better.

Sounds fun! Were you all at one table at China Poblano? We'll be at the Cosmo next year with 5 other couples and trying to get an idea of how many of the restaurants will be able to seat us all as a group as opposed to tables near each other.
  • I have a question, about the OG club, were there many women watching the girls instead of guys? My MOH was talking about going there to see the girls as opposed to the guys.

  • @destinationatake2 - yes, we had one large table in the back.  The tapas style makes it fun with a large group.

@jcray1978 - yes, there were girls and guys watching the girls.  we had a mix of guys and gals and only two of us went upstairs for a few minutes and went back downstairs.  Make sure you call and have them send a limo for you!
