LED tealights - flickering, yes or no?

As part of my centerpieces I'm planning to have LED tealights in glass votive holders, wrapped in lace. I already have the glass votive holders. I'm looking at ordering the tealights online, that seems to be cheapest, but am not sure about flickering vs. non-flickering and amber vs. white. Does anyone have any recommendations? Most of the decor is lavender and white, but we are using hardcover books in the centerpieces so there will be a bit more color with that. Thanks!

  • We're getting these: CLICK

I get a few of them every year for my jack-o-lanterns at Halloween, and they look great. They flicker, the batteries generally last a LONG time, and they are a pretty neutral slightly yellow-white color without being full hazard light amber.

Obviously, those are in pumpkins so they look a little more orange around the edges. But you get the idea.

  • I am obsessed with LED candles.  I definitely prefer the flickering--it's what makes it look like a candle versus a lamp.  As for the color, I think it depends on whether the candles are visible.  If so, make it work with the decor.  If not, I don't think it will make a difference at all.

  • I like the flicker.
  • Another vote for flickering. I think the ones that are stagnant look really strange.

  • I got mine on amazon - non flickering, warm white...LOVE them!
  • Great, thank you for the advice! They will be somewhat visible with the decor - in clear glass votive holders, but they'll be wrapped in lace - so I think I'll go with flickering and try to find a warm white. Our venue, a county park, doesn't allow flames, even in holders. But I think this will look great. :) I appreciate the responses!
  • I am glad I found this post. I also keep tossing the idea around of having the flickering lights.
