Information on the Save the Date card

(1) Do we need to include the dates for each event on the Save-the-Date card?

Because we and all of our guests are travelling for the wedding, we're having a get-together the night before the wedding, the wedding and reception the next day, and a wedding brunch the following day.

(2) Should we include the website information on the Save-the-Date card?

Thanks, Kathy

Re: Information on the Save the Date card

  • I had a similar situation and chose to

    1) List the day of my wedding on the save the date
    2) Include the website info and on the website had an itinerary for the weekend
  • The only date listed on the STD should be the actual wedding date.  All other info should be on the wedding website, which as PP stated, it is ok to put on the STD.

  • What if I'm not doing a wedding website?  Most of our guests are older, not so tech savvy, and traveling quite a distance to attend.  We have the same setup as the OP, with a pre-wedding dinner, wedding day, and post-wedding brunch.
  • STDs are typically only used to announce the date of the wedding.  I'm not sure how etiquette appropriate this would be, but maybe an insert in the invitations would be ok to let everyone know about the other events.

Or you could always just send an email, text, or a phone call letting everyone know.

  • Thanks everyone,

I've chosen to include simply the wedding date and the website address on the STDate card.  The website has all of the information about the other events.  I will also be including the other events as an additional enclosure in the invitation.  I need to know headcount for each event so need guests to indicate which they will be attending.  The RSVP will probably be a checkbox type list of events.

  • You can enclose a card with the STD that lists the events that everyone will be invited to along with travel information.
