Bridesmaid Dress Alteration Help!

So my sister's (MOH) Bill Levkoff dress is too small, they measured her and ordered a size 0 (?!?!) and she probably should have gotten the 2 or 4. Wedding is in 5 weeks. The owner of the salon is insisting it will be fine, it zips up by my MOH can barely breathe. The seamstress says she can let it out but when I saw it yesterday at the 2nd fitting, it still doesn't fit! I'm starting to panic. Has anyone else dealt with a situation like this? I know its easier to take in than let out. Should I insist on them rush ordering a larger size? I'm not aggressive by nature to get nasty with the store but they keep putting me off and my stomach is in knots. I want her to look and feel comfortable.

  • Could you have it changed to a corset back? You may also be able to buy more fabric from the manufacturer to add to the dress. Have you looked for the dress used online? You may be able to get a bigger size at a much cheaper price if a new dress is your only option.

  • Thanks for the response. I think the corset back isn't an option because the dress is one shoulder and it would be very obvious BUT we did order extra fabric in the same dye lot for another girl's dress so maybe they can repurpose some of that if they need too.
