Tipping Vendors

First, I want to apologize for asking this question as I know its been asked several times and I performed a search but still felt like from what I read I needed more information. So in other words I am getting married in two days and may be freaking out a bit.

Here is who I am tipping so far at the reception:
-My florist: She is not only assembling the flowers but she is also delivering them and setting them up. I plan on tipping her $50.
-My Hair/Make-Up artist: 15-20%
-The person who delivers my cake: $20 (but I am already being charged a $50 delivery fee to transport our simple cake 2 miles. Am I tipping too much?)

Here is who I am tipping after the wedding:
-My photographer if she does a phenomenal job.
-My venue coordinator for the same reason as my photographer (which she already has).

I feel like I am missing someone or the amounts I am paying are off as in too high or too low. The wait staff has already been tipped which includes bartenders, waiters/waitresses, chef, etc.

I am counting on you guys to tell me if I am off or forgetting someone. Or to tell me to calm down as I have already tipped accordingly.

Re: Tipping Vendors

  • I think you're spot on, no need to freak out.

Flowers & Cake: the driver/delivery person might not be the actual person who did the work, so tip those people. I don't think I've ever really heard of tipping the actual florist for their work, just the delivery. I can be a jerk about tipping, so I think $20 is too much after a $50 fee.

  • Don't forget the DJ or band, if you've hired either one. They would be on the treated like your photographer.

Also I plan on giving someone else (usually someone not in the WP, but who you can trust) the responsibility of handing out the envelopes with the tip money, so I don't have to worry about it.
  • Thanks for answering my questions. About to leave for my rehearsal!
