I feel like I should know a better Title.. "Irrational somethings".. or something? "Unpopular Opinions?" I keep receiving mail from friends and family members addressed to lc07 maidenname. I know it's irrational but it's pissing me off. I think everyone means well. They know I'm going through a divorce/separation/whatever I'm going through and don't want to put my married name on mail probably as a kindness to me. But it's my name! And I know this is my own psychological thing I will need to deal with but I'm not ready to part with my married name yet and everyone else is ditching it already. Wine, please. Well, apparently I forgot to check the "Schedule D not required" box on the line 13 of the 1040. Now the IRS wants the schedule D. Dammmmmmit...this is why we usually pay people to do this for us.

I hire someone to do my taxes because they're complicated. I pray he is as smart as he should be / sounds. That stuff is mind-numbing to me.

It shouldn't cost much to have someone review your return and send in a letter of explanation. My accountant and tax person don't even usually charge me for that stuff and I'm not that big of a customer.

Since I live in a small town, there is only one small movie theater and one drive-in. I don't have a car, so the drive-in is not an option, plus it is only open in the Summer. As for the theater, they usually have a couple of kids' movies and a few other mainstream films (and if you try to find out ahead of time what is coming to that theater, good luck to you). I wish there were more options, because a lot of the movies I like are foreign films and odd indie ones, which apparently aren't popular enough to warrant a screen on the theater.

I have new bosses for my job, which started up again recently, and there are all of these stupid rules. For instance, I can't wear sandals or flats anymore (my job involves standing and walking on cement, nothing too hard or anywhere to slip/trip/fall except for the winter in which case I am wearing winter boots) even though my one pair of flats are specifically "safety" shoes for cooks and whatnot. I hate wearing my tennis-style shoes with shorts and capris, but I have to.

Our office got rearranged again yesterday and I now have a seriously shitty seat. I shouldn't complain given that we don't pay for our office space (shared with other companies) but it still sucks.

@Ic07 --I did not take the "bitch" comment as directed at me. But when I re-read it, I could see why you thought that haha. Typing out our thoughts just doesn't always work right!

I wrote a letter myself--they actually included some forms, so it was pretty easy. If there is still a problem, we will definitely hire someone!

On the plus side, the mistake works in our favor, so we don't have to worry about paying any more than we already did. I think that's the only thing keeping me from freaking out about it.

I actually hate wedding planning. I hate it so much that I rage quit this morning and handed it off to mom and FMIL. I told them here is the budget and as long as I have the power to yes/no things, it's all up to them. So here I am, with my own personal wedding planners.

They are so excited. They wanted to do it for so long, but I was afraid to give up control. They are very good friends with each other.

@larrygaga I'm SO over wedding planning. I've hated since we got engaged and I'm so excited that I only have three more weeks until it's all over. I just want to be married to FI and be done with it.

I'll bitch, too. I decided to paint my bathroom last weekend but didn't get past the cleaning, taping, and priming. Painting is a bitch.

@ElcaB painting is the absolute worst. I'm THIS close to hiring someone to paint the rest of our house because I just don't want to do it. FI doesn't mind painting but it takes him a million years to finish anything he starts and I don't want to live in a house with drop cloths and paint and tape everywhere while he takes his sweet time.

See now, painting is my happyplace. I love it. I find it relaxing. But we aren't allowed to paint in this goddamn rental!!

So if I'm ever in your neck of the woods, and you want some walls to be a different colour, holla.

I start lifting heavy weights this week. And by heavy, I only mean 20kg because I'm weak. But my everything hurts. Sitting to pee is the worst, I've started drinking less water. Just as much wine though.

YES. Since I started this last weekend, we have been showering in our guest bathroom. Then I go into our primed master bathroom where the plastic drop cloth sticks to the bottom of my feet as I get ready.

I spent the last week patching, taping, priming, and painting our spare bedroom. We should have just pulled the drywall down and started from scratch because they still look like shit.

My first time doing a project like this from start to finish by myself and it was completely demoralizing and awful.

Note: sponge painting is evil. The previous owners covered FI's house with it and it's miserable to cover. I hate it.

And I kinda hate FI for living in the house for 6 years before meeting me without doing anything about it.

I'm pissed because my sister and I went to look at the Alfred Sung dresses we wanted for the BMs and I didn't love the color. Then my friend was bitching about her terrible "cheap" BM dress for her sister's wedding and how all the zippers for all the BMs needed to be replaced. Oh, what dresses were those? Yeah. Alfred Sung.

They are the only line that has enough style options for the various shapes/ modesty requirements. And they look so cute online. And now the color is wrong and people will think they are cheap and dammit, this wasn't my VISION!

Okay, I'm done. Back to the drawing board.

Sorry @Ic07 that you are going through a divorce! And I know how you feel about the name thing, but yes, of course the people around you are just trying to spare your feelings. However, I understand that it can be annoying. Are you planning to ever change your name back? I read a thread about a similar situation on TN and maybe you could also ask some help there? But like pp said, I would probably try to tell them gently that you haven't changed or aren't thinking of changing your name.
