Accessorizing?

Hi all!
I'm not very good with accessorizing so maybe you girls can help me. I have my wedding dress already and I love it! The problem I'm having is picking a veil to go with it. I think maybe something simple but I'm not sure. What do you guys think? Any suggestions? Would you recommend wearing a sash with it?

Re: Accessorizing?

  • Personally, I would not use a sash. You could look into getting a belt sewn in if you want a little more sparkle.

As far as a veil, would you do something dramatic like a chapel length, or something more modern like a bird cage? What direction are you thinking and what's your personal style normally?

  • I would probably have a beaded belt sewn in to help define your waist more. As for the veil, since your dress does not have a lot of embellishment you could go with something a bit more dramatic, but it really comes down to your personal style and vision.

  • Thanks for the suggestions!

@southernbelle0915 I'm pretty short so I was thinking elbow length or shorter to avoid looking smaller than I am but other than that I have no preference. I actually never had a vision for my wedding until I got engaged XD

  • I wouldn't have guessed you were short because that dress really elongates you!

I would probably go with a elbow-fingertip length veil with a decorative beaded edge to add a little umph. Check out Etsy or preownedweddingdresses.com for more reasonable priced accessories rather then spending an arm and a leg at a bridal shop.

  • @Maggie0829 Thank you! Awesome suggestion for the veil! I'll definitely look into ordering online :)

  • I would probably skip a sash then for the dress because I was thinking you were pretty talk with how the dress makes you look. If you want some bling though, I wouldn't do a colored sash, I would probably do a white sash with decorations, but I really think you don't need it. And in regards to a veil, when you go in for a fitting, try a few different styles of veils on and see which one you feel more comfortable with. You can go simple finger time to long & dramatic to a fun & flirty bird cage style.
