Morning

How was the weekend?

Mine was free from plans.  :D  It was glorious.  The weather was perfect.  We slept in late both Saturday and Sunday.

Re: Morning

  • Saturday we ran errands and had 6let soccer.  BIL pulled a nice little stunt.  I'll put at the bottom.  Then we had a pizza and movie party in the family room.

Sunday we went apple picking and to an ice cream place.  Today is back to reality.  Busy week, but tomorrow morning I have a whole 2 hours with just Max.  M2 starts preschool for realsies.

BIL stunt:  If you don't remember BIL bought FIL's house last summer.  This year they had a bunch of trees die. FIL knows a lot of people so he got a company lined up to cut down the trees.  The company shows up and BIL leaves to go to a festival.  FIL was SUPPOSED to come to 6let's soccer game.  Instead he felt someone should be around to tell these people what trees to cut down so he had to skip the game.  The only game he would have been able to make.  Oh and BIL left FIL with the bill.

MIL: MIL posted about what a great son she had because he took her to the popcorn festival Saturday.  She doesn't know the full story, but I'd love to fill her in.  I also want her to stop thinking every last orange thing is for the Browns.

  • We had a good weekend.

Friday was DH's birthday.  We went out to eat.

Saturday the ILs picked up DD1 for the night and the rest of us went to a friend's house to watch football and they cooked dinner for us.

Yesterday we had a baseball game.

I need to get DD2 in to the doctor this morning.  She ran a fever Thursday night at the ILs' house that finally broke Friday night, has no appetite and has a sore on the inside of her lip that is so painful she won't let me touch it.  Google is telling me hand, foot, mouth disease but I just want her checked out.
  • Sounds like HFM, I think they give an abx for that.

I'm a little freaked about this respiratory virus. 6let's asthma was good for awhile, but it's acting up and I can't help but wonder...In reality, he's working too hard to breath so I've got a call to the doc.

  • HFM is rampant this year.  It swept through DefConn's daycare.  He didn't get it too bad.

Your BIL is such a waste of space, 6.   Why won't your MIL/FIL let him just fail?
  • See, everything I have read says there is nothing they will do because HFM is viral. I have been giving ibuprofen for pain and a topical oral pain relief gel.

That's what I've heard, too.  I remember when DD had it, and I suspect that DS had a really mild bout of it a month or so ago.

Yes, HFM is virus and all you can do is make them comfortable.  Usually the fever breaks quickly and then the blisters show up.  I didn't even take DefConn to the doc when he had it because I knew there was nothing she could do for him.
  • I could be wrong about the abx.  Don't take advice from the webs:)

@mrs.conn- FIL has guilt and MIL thinks he's the golden child.

Which is what I was thinking, but I have decided to take her in just to be sure that's what it is since DH and I are going out of town on Friday and the kids will be staying with my parents all weekend, infecting them, all my siblings and all their kids.
  • How long did it last from fever to end?

I think he had a couple of blisters that lingered for a little over a week.  He got it really bad around his lips and on his face.  He had one at the corner of his mouth that was stubborn, but I think it was because of touching his face/eating/thumb-sucking/etc.
  • The weekend was non-existent. Saturday was spent cleaning and cooking because we were hosting friends.

Sunday was spent orienting the new babysitter and then going to a BBQ.

Also I was a raging batch of first tri grossness this weekend. I hit 6 weeks and got slammed by every symptom in the book.

Gotcha.  I can't say how bad hers is - one on the inside of her lip and one near the corner of her mouth by her lower lip and then a couple on her throat.  They look painful.

I've got an appt for 9:30.
  • That sucks, Taw.  Poor girl.  :(  DefConn didn't seem to be too affected by the blisters.  He was just puny with the fever and then back to himself once it broke,  Some kids get it way worse than others unfortunately.
  • Saturday, we went and got sushi because my OB said it was okay, and I almost cried forever because it was the tastiest thing to hit my tongue in an eternity. Going from a 1-2 day a week sushi habit to cold turkey was hard as fuck.

We also told the Facebooks about babby on Saturday. My husband did a dramatic reading of 'how is babby formed? how girl get pragnent?' and I leaned in with an ultrasound photo at the end. People have kinda lost their minds? idk.

    Yesterday, I mostly studied.

Today, I have work from 6:30-4:30, pathophysiology from 5:30-6:30 and writing from 7-9:30. It is a VERY long day. I'm hoping I'll get out of work a little early so I can go grab some more sushi (ughhhh godddd yessssss) before going to campus for four hours.

  • Friday, the Mr was incredibly sick w/ abovementioned virus.  So were MIL and FIL, so we postponed  Buffy's party.

Buffy was a terror all weekend--but she was sick (not sick enough to stay in bed, just sick enough to be grumpy), improved on Sunday, we we had her party then.

Oh, and Saturday she rode her new bike around the neighborhood w/ me and she managed to fall off of it into a ditch, nevermind training wheels (and nevermind me standing 2' away but being to slow to catch her).
  • 6-your story reminds me of stinky and her amazing ILs.  I wonder how they're all doing?  Also, BIL knows that FIL has guilt so he is a master manipulator.  Yep.

Weekend was so quiet---and I really didn't do anything.  I had my longest run on Saturday, then sat down and hardly moved.  Which crawled into Sunday---I moved less than 1.5 miles all day.  BAH.  I don't care---nope.  I am kinda PMS-y so I'm exhausted...stupid aging.

I hope to run tonight with a group, but when narrowing down WHERE, people start saying "I hope it doesn't rain".  Dude, WTF does that have to do with location?  *eyebrow raise*
  • Morning. It's raining here and the roads are a mess. Freeways shut down, schools closed, etc. I was able to take the kids to daycare but apparently about 1/2 the other kids aren't there because of the weather. Lots of flooding.

This weekend was good. Saturday DS and I saw the new Planes movie. Picked up lunch the. Came home. Did errands and cleaned in the afternoon. Sunday we went to my parent's house to see them and visit with my aunt and uncle. We went swimming which DD loved. The kids were exhausted and went to bed early.

This week I find out, hopefully, that I'm coming off my stupid project. I freaking hate this study.

Aw shit.  Double whammy. Poor baby.  I hope she feels better soon.
  • Oh, taw---that's horrible.  Hopefully the medicine does the trick.
  • Think of the positive? Killing two birds with one stone?

I'm sorry she's so sick and you're dealing with it.
  • She's an absolute trooper when she's sick.  I really can't complain.  She's better than DH.

Right now she's perfectly content to suck down yogurt and applesauce while watching Lucky Duck.
  • Poor baby.  That sucks.  Get well soon!
  • Poor kid.  Glad you went and hope she gets better soon.
