Centerpieces at Destination Wedding?

We are having a destination wedding on a yacht. It will be 1500 miles away. How in the world can I make centerpieces and send them over? Any ideas?

I am very open to centerpiece ideas, I don't really have a particular one in mind. Thank you!

Have they done other weddings?  How were the centerpieces done for those weddings?

I'd imagine loose, heavy centerpieces on a boat is a no-go.

  • I asked the yacht coordinator and he said he doesnt usually have people from out of town, just people from the state. I know some florists do centerpieces but they are pricey! :P

But they don't have to be.  You should be able to give a florist a budget and they should be able to stick to it and offer up options of things they can do that fit in with your vision.

So are weddings on yachts 1500 miles away! In large part because you've made it very difficult to DIY anything.
  • Call a few "local" florists, give them a budget and ask what they can do for you. Pick the one you like best. Make sure they know it's on a boat so they pick appropriate glassware and ask the yacht coordinator about restrictions.

Or just don't have centerpieces. Have fancy table settings, chargers, etc. and then ask the yacht company to put an antipasto or fruit tray in the middle of each table so there isn't dead space.

  • Do you have a DOC/planner?  Let them deal with it locally.  They'll know who to call.
