My father passed away when I was 16, but we were never very close anyway. My mother began dating her boyfriend when I was 18 (about 7 years ago) and he's become a father figure to me. I'd like to surprise him by honoring him during the father/daughter dance, but I'm having trouble finding an appropriate song. I'd like it to capture our relationship, but all of the songs I've looked through seem to mention "dad' or marrying the mother, or helping the bride grow up. They aren't married and I was already grown and living on my own when he entered into the picture. He's still supported me so much over the years and I truly appreciate him, but I want to find a song to relate to us. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
