I got married on Saturday and it was wonderful! There were a couple hiccups; it was 96 degrees outside so we ended up moving the ceremony indoors and the rabbi (who was supposed to be there two hours early) got horribly lost and ended up at our venue (pretty much in hysterics and throwing up in the bathroom) 20 minutes before the ceremony was due to begin. Amazingly enough, she got herself pulled together and everything else went off without a hitch! She and my grandfather did a lovely job officiating. I think the ceremony was too long for my youngest niece as she called out 'Kiss!' in a demanding tone when we were only halfway through- it was adorable!
I think we got some great pictures with our photographer and the reception was awesome. My husband (squee!!! I get to call him that now!) surprised me with a really sweet toast and my dad's toast brought me to tears. We didn't make it to every table during dinner since we talk too much but we spoke to every person who attended at some point during the evening. The dinner was good, the cakes (all three cakes!) were delicious and I survived the hora! We danced, we laughed and everyone seemed to have a great time.
We went out with a dozen or so friends to a local bar after the wedding and folks there were really nice and complimentary; one guy even bought us a bottle of champagne. The next day we had breakfast at the hotel and spent the afternoon watching our favorite football teams win their opening games with a few family members and friends who were still in town. It was so much fun and I'm thrilled that I am married to the most amazing man!
