Wedding Day Gift for Fiance

Hey Ladies!

Have you decided what you're getting your husband to be as a gift for the day of your wedding? My fiance is dying to get the new Apple Watch, which was just announced today and won't be available until next year. So I need another idea that's not boudoir photos, cufflinks, or a watch. 

What are you ladies doing?

    My original plan was a smoker for his birthday that was in July which I did get him and then he really wanted a Montreal Canadiens dartboard, which I figured I get him for the wedding. Well last week his buddies come over for their weekly gaming night and they hand him a very large box. What is it? The Canadiens dartboard. -face palm- But I was walking to the train station yesterday after work and there is a glassware/smoke shop. Thinking of getting him a vaporizer or hookah. Haven't decided yet!

    I bought my FI 3 tickets to the Football Hall of Fame - I figured he could take his brother and dad with him.  They've planned several times to go and just plans fell through, so I figured if he had the tickets he'd go.  He's wanted to go since I've known him.


    @morganmcalpin - Maybe you could get your FI a cheaper watch with a picture of an apple in it and let him know it's a placeholder until the Apple watch comes out??

     FI is a guitarist. So I am getting him guitar pick cufflinks that say "I pick you - pick me".

    He had NO idea he was supposed to get me something until someone asked me at a dinner party if I had thought of his gift. My friend's hubby broke the silence after FI said "I'm supposed to get you something?" by saying "well that would have been an awkward wedding night.

    He has already gotten me a beautiful journey heart necklace (our first Christmas together) and my engagement ring, so I'm hoping for something not jewelry. I'm running out of places to put it all!

    I got the FI a nice waterproof digital camera that we can take on our honeymoon.  I also got him a t-shirt that says "Trophy Husband" with a picture of a trophy on it.  Anyone that knows him will think it's perfect and he will get a good laugh out of it!

    I'm making him two pieces of wall art. One will be our vows, and the other will be a list of opposites (I guess, I don't know - kind of hard to describe). I'm in law enforcement, so it's stuff like 'you're the pepper in my spray, the lights to my siren, the red to my blue, the bullets in my gun, the love of my life'.

    We had originally decided that we were just giving each other the wedding, but then I saw the second idea on Etsy and decided to do that. And I jokingly told him that a good gift for me would be a frilly apron (because he seems to think he'd like me in that and nothing else when he comes home from work on my days off).

    He doesn't know, but I'm flying home his best man for the wedding. As far as FI knows, his best man won't be able to make it - until he shows up that morning!

    I'm pretty sure no one getting married is required to purchase a gift for the wedding day. I'm not sure when this tradition started but most of my friends got married 20 years ago and I had never heard of such a thing until I came on the knot. We're spending a great deal of money on our wedding rings, the wedding and the honeymoon. I think to spend more on a gift to each other is a nice gesture but certainly not required. FI and I are writing each other letters to read the day of the wedding. Other than that he's getting me. And I'm getting him. And that's better than any other gift he could possibly think of to get me.

    My FI loves poker, so I ordered him a custom engraved poker set from Etsy. It was under 90 including shipping and handling, and I think he's going to love it!
