Raven Lodge Huntsville State Park

Does anyone have any information on this venue.? How many people will fit inside, can you bring alcohol, ect.  Also does anyone have pictures of the inside?

Re: Raven Lodge Huntsville State Park

  • I *almost* had my wedding there, but they were booked too far out. I LOVE IT. http://blog.mustardseedphoto.com/heather-dustin-wedding-raven-lodge/

Those blogs have some pictures of the inside, I think I have some more if my mom hasn't deleted them.

I think we determined that we could fit about 50 people inside comfortably. But the outside patio is enormous, you can fit a lot of people out there. There is one big room with the fireplace and bay window, connecting to a second smaller room with an awesome wooden bar. There is also a full kitchen.

You can bring alcohol, but it has to be in a discrete container. You have to also pay the $5 entrance fee for all of your guets, but the rangers can work out a thing where you pay it in advance, so it's not awkward. I think they might cut you a deal on that too. I don't remember for sure.

They have tables and chairs that you can use. They aren't the fanciest things you have ever seen. The only thing I didn't like is that it REEKED of Pinesol when we were there. There is a janitor type closet in the men's bathroom and there was a big mop bucket that hadn't been emptied. I hate Pinesol so much.

That's all I can think of, but if you have any other questions, please ask me. I even have measurements for all of the windows, doors, gates, etc. They will let you go into the park and look around(they give you a keycode). They didn't even make us pay the entrance fee, so that was kinda cool.
  • I live in Huntsville so I have been to the Lodge more times than I can count.

The fee is $250 for Fridays, Saturdays, and all holidays and then $150 all other days. This is an all day rental from 7am - 10pm. You also must pay for your guests to enter the park, but they have changed their prices so I am not sure of the fee. However if you have a state park pass your guests get in for free. Also, the entrance gates getted locked at 10:00pm so everybody must be out by that point or they get locked in.

I have been to a conference there which fit like 65 people inside however that was just chairs and without tables.

Everybody brings alcohol to the lodge, but technically you aren't supposed to. That is why it has to be "hidden". AKA you can't just be holding a beer can or a beer bottle (koozies as favors!?) As long as people aren't loud, rambunctious, and obviously drunk I have never seen it be an issue.

Also, here are a few more photogs links to see the inside. Caroline+Ben photography  and Sarah Ainsworth Photography

  • I'm having my wedding there!  They said we could have alcohol.. and I like that they don't require a police office to be there!
I went out and took pictures of the lodge for reference for later.
Here's a link to the album on facebook.  It's public.  Please excuse the picture of my goddaughter with her pants at her ankles... she's a hoot.
I love that it's a "blank canvas" to work with.  There is a super ugly picture above one of the fireplaces... but we're going to have one of our engagement picture blown up and tack it over it.
We reserved it for 2 days so that we could leave when we wanted to.  The ladies at the office said that a two day rental would let us stay later and also give us access to the gate code so guests could leave after 10.  This also allows us to go in and clean the next day rather than getting it all done that night.
  • Are the tables round or rectangle?
