Out of the box seating - HELP

I am having a bit of a melt down right now. We moved to a larger room to have a seat for every butt. BUT the larger rooms are very plain and the cost to decorate is prohibitively expensive. I'd rather spend on the hosted bar. I am thinking that we would have the ceremony and the reception in the same room because I already have reception decor in the budget. Now I'm thinking to do the ceremony with everyone seated at their tables. I am a fan of long tackles rather than round but realize that means half of the guests will have their backs to us. I know the creative Knotties will have some ideas on how to pull this off. I am open to very out of the box thinking. Thank you in advance!

    I would do long tables, sort of "pointing" towards where the ceremony will be.  Then don't seat anybody on the short side that would have their back to the ceremony.  That way, everybody turns to the side to watch the ceremony.  Or if you must, you can seat somebody on that end, but at least it's only a few people who will have to turn their chairs around.

    That was the only thing I could think of or maybe like a chevron? I feel like I might need to turn into a space planner over night! Thank you. I will play around with that one.

    Don't worry about decorating the room. It doesn't need to be decorated. Some centerpieces are really all you need. If anything else- uplighting and a curtain behind the main table can bring a lot of drama for not a lot of costs.

    Don't worry about decorations. And people can turn their chairs. I attended a ceremony where I was seated at a round table for the reception during the ceremony. My back was towards the ceremony (someones would have to be). So I just turned my chair around for the ceremony. No big deal.

    Good for you that you are putting the bar over decorations budget wise. Cheers!
