10/4/2014 Brides... 18 days to go!!

I'm going crazy!! The countdown has definitely been started! I feel like there is so much to get done, and no time to do it! Money has definitely been a big part of my stress, I can only make so much in this short amount of time! Has anyone else been feeling this way? Any tips?

Re: 10/4/2014 Brides... 18 days to go!!

  • Sometimes I get sudden anxiety attacks, but for the most part, I feel ready.
Unexpectedly low numbers mean that financially, our wedding is looking a lot better than we had originally planned, plus, having fewer people at the wedding seems a lot more manageable in terms of spending time with everyone.

There are still a lot of things that need to come together, but it will happen.  Bring on the next 18 days!

  • We're stressing about money too. I think we're still going to be under our budget though. So much stuff to do though. I took tomorrow off work so I could work on DIY projects and run some errands. Friday we're getting our marriage license. Saturday we're picking up the last of our decorations. I'm a basket case. I'm so busy with work and volunteering on top of the wedding being in 18 days.
  • Work has almost been the worst part! I'm sure any day I will be getting in trouble for spacing out so much!  I just have so much on my mind for the wedding.  We are having a lower amount of guest too @Emily104, and as bummed as I am that some people can't come, it will save a lot for food and chairs

Our wedding is going way over budget. First, about 20 more people replied "yes" than I was expecting. Then, I thought the venue supplied bubbles for the grand exit- but just learned that it does not. So, I have to buy something for that. Then, we agreed that we would buy our MOH and BM attire as their presents, but my mom just insisted that we need to get them real presents in addition to that. Plus, my car died recently and I had to buy a new one unexpectedly. So, needless to say, I am also stressed about money.

I basically told FI that I will not be seeing him much in the coming days because I have so many projects to do.

  • Also, I'm totally spacing out at work. I can hardly go a full minute without my mind wandering back to the wedding.

  • @bekt14 that is bad luck! We are doing bubbles as well for the exit, I saw some really cheap small ones at walmart in the party section that I can hide under other things (like chairs in our outdoor wedding) to make more bubbles. How am I supposed to work with all this stuff going on? haha
  • well, was told yesterday that I have pneumonia so I'm working to get rid of that...and I realized over the weekend that I never replaced my birth certificate when my wallet was stolen.  I need that to get the license...

Our backyard is half sodded and the landscaping is about 3/4 done but the fence is barely started.

I'm stressed to the max but whether or not its perfect, it'll happen.
I'll still get married, I'll still be his wife.

    I need a nap.
  • I can't wait till we can start seeing the weather forecast!

  • Accuweather has a 45 day forecast. I am addicted to checking it.

  • Noooo Emily104, why did you have to make me aware of that!?! Now I'm going to be addicted, and my forecast for October 18th isn't looking so good!! Haha.
  • I just checked in here - I hope Accuweather is right with mine:
    Abundant Sunshine
    High 82
    Low 68
    Sunset at 6:58pm

Sunscreen - must remember to put sunscreen on!!!

I'm all stressed because of money stuff - I keep thinking of all these little things I WANT for our wedding.  We've paid for a majority but for some reason my head keeps thinking about the things we haven't paid for (we're having a restaurant dinner, our hotel room, our dinners for our HM. . . ).

  • Mine has been off and on rain and has settled in to 62 degrees with low clouds, and rain the day before.

I know I shouldn't look at the forecast yet... I know it's too far out to predict... but the temptation to look is just too much!

I've been looking at that thing daily for weeks! So far it's been sunny, cloudy, partly cloudy, partly sunny, but there has been no trace of rain yet. We'll see.

The ceremony is outdoors in a GORGEOUS area overlooking a golf course and I would seriously hate to have to move it indoors.

  • People keep asking me what I'm going to do if it's cold or rainy.  If it rains, we have a tent, no problem.  If it's cold... come on people, we're all adults.  If it's cold bring a jacket or a sweater, it hasn't been a secret that our wedding is outdoors.

  • Fantastic!  58 and a little rain in the afternoon on my wedding day.  At this point, with all the other little stresers that have happened with wedding, I'll just deal with it.  I am tickled pink that its sunny for the flight out for the honeymoon!  That had better be true!

  • Here's another fun site : http://www.wunderground.com/travelplanner/index.asp You can look up the historic weather for around your area. I put in from 10/12-10/16 and it came back with weather since 1984 - 70days recorded, of those 70 days it's rained 11; Average high is 84 average low is 69. I hope it keeps up with the historical trend!

  • 57 and sunny for me :) I'm happy with that, but I also don't put too much stock into the weather report for 2 1/2 weeks from now :)
  • It's showing 62 with a 70% chance of rain for my outdoor wedding, can't say I didn't warn everyone first! I'm feeling pretty stressed out but I think that day I will just go with the flow for everything...hopefully ;)

50/50 sunny/other for me. Eek. That make me nervous!
  • @JennyColada - well only 17% of the days have been rain.  A little cloudy/overcast would help with pictures.

  • Cloudy and 62 here. The cloudy will be a lot better for the pictures I want at the church than a sunny day, so this pleases me

Yea, I don't so much mind clouds. I mean, I know that rain will be very unlikely (especially since we've been in a massive drought!), but even if my wedding would have been in August it's a major irrational fear! But I know we'd be able to handle it regardless.

  • uhg mine says 60 degrees (feels like 55) with overcast with a bit of rain, there goes my outdoor ceremony :/
    Wedding Countdown Ticker
  • I am going to stock up on some dollar store umbrellas (max 20, couples can share) for the guests and the wedding party, all the other outdoor ladies should do that too!
  • I'm planning on ordering rain ponchos and shoving them in the welcome bags I have for my guests.  I have this irrational mindset going on that if I provide ponchos it will not rain but if I do not it will (because that's my luck).
