Is this dress appropriate for a wedding?

I'm going to a wedding next month and want to get a new dress... I was hoping to get one that I could use again to go out and dress up or down depending on the situation. After perusing through ModCloth 9,000 times I found this and realized I could dress it up with a black cardigan, pretty jewelry, and a black pair of heels. 

Thoughts?

    Yeah, I was definitely worried the polka dots may be a little too loud. I was just going to wear my engagement ring and a pair of post earrings.

    It's a cute dress! I wouldn't wear it because it's NMS but I think it would look great on someone else. I think it would work for a daytime ceremony or a venue less casual than cocktail dress attire.

    It's during the evening. The invitations seemed casual but I googled the venue and it's a nice spot on Long Island, so now I'm so conflicted!

    I would wear this only to a more casual daytime wedding (super cute though). But for a nicer venue in the evening, I wouldn't go with big polka dots.

    Alright, thanks guys. Looks like it's back to the drawing board. So far I can't find anything I like and I have less than two weeks to figure something out, so cross your fingers for me,

    You could wear it with a cute blazer maybe?

    Also, if you like that style, check out Sidecca. I think they're just a local store, but they have an Amazon shop too.

    They are all cute but I still like the first one best.  Personally I couldn't see #2 or #3 being flattering on myself, but it probably all depends on your body type.  I'd feel like #2 would hide my waist, while #3 would put all the focus on the boobage.  But that's just me.  I do think #2 is super cute if you know that shape has worked for you in the past.  I like the floaty double-layer look.

    Thanks, guys. I think I may get the first or third one. I'm just feeling weird about a tight dress because I feel like I have too much stomach pooch and large hips, if you know what I mean. My measurments are 39-30-40.

    2. I would switch out the black cardigan or shoes for something with color. Black on black on black, boring.

    3. I own the black sleek it out dress. If you're hippy, size up. I wore it with black heels, a skinny lemon yellow belt, and yellow nails (yellow and grey wedding).
