Color HELP!

FI and I are getting married next October on a plantation in Charleston, SC. My BMs are wearing navy blue, and the GM are wearing medium gray suits with navy blue ties. I don't want to my flowers and decor to be too matchy-matchy to what our wedding party is wearing. And I don't want the colors I choose for those things to be cliche fall colors (bright reds, oranges, etc.). Ultimately, I want the flowers and decor to scream rustic elegance. For the last main colors, I was thinking a  beige-y peach and blush. And then any other decor would be neutral. Here's a Pinterest board I started.

FI thinks these colors are too muted, but I think anything brighter would just be weird for fall. Help!

My wedding is this coming November and I too did not want to "fall" into the fall colors. Our wedding party is honestly wearing what sounds like the exact same as yours. Girls in navy; boys in medium gray with navy.

Our colors are navy blue and gold. The flowers are a gold baby's breath with white flowers, and accents of green caspia. The center pieces are wine bottles with birch branches, these pink things, and whatever "extra" I have from making the bouquets. I can't remember if I ended up ordering a white baby's breath but if so that will be added to the bouqets, as well.

The venue will have navy (maybe just navy, I may mix it up and have some be cream) linens, with gold wine bottles in the center. Mine is more matchy than what it sounds like yours will be, but I do like your idea of beige-y peach and blush :)

  • If you want things to scream rustic and your FI wants colorful, why don't you do wildflowers?

  • Love @southernbelle0915 suggestions.  Don't worry too much about the season you are getting married in.  Pick whatever colors you love.  I, personally, prefer bright colors over soft muted colors because depending on your venue and lighting those muted and soft colored flowers could easily "disappear."

  • Plum is considered a fall color and pairs well with navy. I love the look of plum against a grey suit:

On the other hand, you don't have to stick with fall colors. I think what you're planning looks really pretty.
  • i like the plum suggested by @wrigleyville and the wildflowers suggested by @southernbelle0915... go with the colors you love! don't worry about seasons or trying to be too neutral (unless that's what you love).
  • Plum is great for the fall!  I'm doing navy blue dresses also and I'm going to give my girls burnt orange scarves to wear.  But I'm going to have my accent colors be a mustard yellow and maroon.  I love how the reds oranges and yellows compliment the navy blue! I was also considering a forest green (I'm seeing a lot of that color in stores now for fall apparel) so I might use that color in the center pieces.
