Las Vegas Wedding Planners?

Hi All,
I know a lot of brides don't use wedding planners because most Vegas packages are all inclusive, but I need some help!
I am having my ceremony and reception in our dining space at Maggiano's and I would like someone to handle the decorations and day of deliveries. Im not good at decorating and picking out flowers, linens and lighting is stressing me out. We are only having 30 guests, but I dont want to have to worry about vendors on our wedding day. Anyone have any wedding planner recommendations?

  • I have three options here:

I used Scheme Events and they were awesome, but we had a lot of vendors to deal with and a whole bunch of things to handle day-of, so it was worth the price.  They only do all day and/or planning + day of coordination, so they can be more expensive than other options if you don't need all that.

Culinary Pros might be your best bet as they'll do strictly dealing with vendors, etc. at an hourly rate and you could always just have your florist deal with picking and arranging the flowers; we used Pam at The Palette and other than giving her a few specific flowers we wanted included in the center pieces for the tables, she did all the decision making and day-of arranging for us so we didn't have to deal with it.

Maggiano's will handle setting up most, if not all of your decor.  They are amazing.  They can help with a lot of information but if you're looking for someone to actually help you make decisions on decor, favors, etc. I second Faith (@ Faithfully Yours).  She's going to be my day-of coordinator and already she's been a huge help.  Oh, I forgot to mention that Maggiano's also has a list of preferred vendors so if you use them (some of the highest-rated ones on the boards) you sometimes get discounted rates AND they're used to working with them already so Maggiano's also handles dealing with them, including billing if you choose to do that, although they will add a service fee if billed through them.

  • Oooh! Good to know about Maggiano's. I may not need to hire anyone. Thanks so much for the suggestions!
  • Pam @ The Palette is great.  You'll see her name mentioned MANY times on this board with high marks.  She is one of Maggiano's preferred vendors and she is very reasonable on pricing.  Give her an idea of the look you want and/or the budget and she will take care of the rest.  You literally don't have to decide anything about floral but you can be sure everything will look beautiful.  As for lighting, you can get uplights from many  places in Vegas or even DIY though mail order but honestly, you don't need any of that at Maggiano's.  They have beautiful rooms and they will turn the lights down after dinner or for dancing, or whatever.  Plus, you have giant glass windows that let in the lights from Vegas outside.  Maggiano's will also handle all your linens through RSVP or one of their other vendors.  Tell them what color you want and they'll take care of the rest.  That is, if you want colors.  They have a very lovely standard white tablecloth setup that wouldn't require you to do anything extra if that's the way you choose to go.  Beth and Sabrina deal with vendor deliveries every day.  Do whatever makes you stress the least but if you're going to be at Maggiano's, I really don't think you'd need to worry about getting extra help.  They're really, really good at what they do, which is why so many brides (including me!) choose them. :)

  • I have been going back and forth with this too. I only need some assistance with setting up the in suite at The Orleans, but I don't want to pay $500 for Faith, but all i read is that brides recommend a DOC to reduce stress.
  • I just got a quote for DOC from Scheme Events for $2,000. I'm sure they are very good, but that just seems SO high for DOC.
