*AW* Pics from yesterday's fitting!

The dress is almost finished now, collection is in a month. Dressmaker wasn't sure whether I wanted boning in the back panels of the corset or not, so she left it unfinished at the bottom so she could still get her hand in if need be. And the skirt still needs hemming, but it definitely looks better with the added tulle in the skirt.

I feel amazing in this dress!

  • I say yes to the boning in back, just because it really makes a smoother line with lace ups.
Beautiful color! That is going to be perfect with your eyes. And really makes your skin glow. Good choice.
    Yay!  Love it.

Are you doing jewelry/accessories? Enquiring minds want to know.
  • You look lovely!
  • Very pretty! I love the corset back!

Here's an easy tutorial on how to lace a corset:

Doing this gives a much better form in the midsection. :)

I said yes to the boning in the back, because I wanted clean lines. I am SO incredibly happy with this dress, with the fabric we chose for it, with the colours. Everything about it just makes me want to dance (so now it's kinda sad that we're not having a dancing reception).

I haven't made a definitive decision on the jewelry/accessories yet. I have a pair of lace wristlet/arm warmer things that I'm considering wearing, purely because they have some blue in them. I'm fairly certain that I'm not going to wear anything around my neck. I have three options for earrings: 1) silver birds that FI bought for me, 2) silver and diamante cats (so I can have my cats with me "in spirit"), and 3) pearl earrings borrowed from my mom.

But I'm not 100% sold on anything yet. I'm going to see what works and run with it. And I still haven't decided what I'm doing with my hair. I'm going to the fabric store on Thursday, and if I find fabric I like, I might make a giant bow for my hair. I might just buy an alice band and put some of the ribbon from our invitations on it, or wear a tiara that FI bought as a joke. He thought it was a plastic kiddies tiara, and when he got home we realized it's actual metal and CZ (or similar).

  • Thanks ladies!

The skirt is actually mint green, like my shoes, but they both photograph blue for some reason!
