Wedding Woes

Morning!

How was the weekend?  We were chock full of stuff.

Friday night: wedding.  It was a beautiful venue.  The bride is gorgeous and bubbly and such a sweet woman. Beautiful venue, good food, gorgeous bouquet, fun friends, cute "guest book" where we put a fingerprint on a tree, sweet vows, and sweet vows to her daughter, and open bar.  Odd ball was the preacher- announced they've been celibate for 60 days (with her 8 yo right there), made them hold a thing of oreos to show Jesus is the white stuff that holds them together, went into the submission thing. I ended up dragging out a dress I haven't worn in 8 years and it fit perfectly.

Saturday: DH took the kids to B&N so I could clean.  Then soccer

Sunday: PARTY!!!   BIL actually showed up and sFIL didn't spend the day watching the Browns. 6let had a blast and I thought everything turned out pretty cute.  6let was disappointed the masks on his banner weren't straight, but the ninja turtle pizza made up for it.

That pizza is great!  I bet he loved the party, you are a cool mom!

I spent most of the weekend in the hospital, but I'm home with just 2 new stents, no open heart surgery, so for me that is a win.  I had a stent from 9 years ago that was completey blocked, it took 2 new ones to hold it open.  I also have a failed bypass from 15 years ago that woud require surgery to correct but they decided to hold off for now  My heart has done its own bypass of sorts, some small collaterol artieries have taken over so that the area is getting some blood supply.  The Dr. told me this isn't unheard of but not common, and it is usually seen in people very athletic, ha not me at all!  They are going to try and leave as is with me on blood thinners and beta blockers, so praying it works.  Bypass surgery is no joke, and anything to avoid it is a relief.

  • Take care Peg!!

The party pics were great 6. :)  I loved how it all turned out.

Friday-I dropped the kids off with SIL and DH and I went out to dinner.
Saturday-DH and I had to work.  After work, I went to get the kids and we went to the store.  We just relaxed the rest of the night.
Sunday-Family bday party (Sis, dad, BIL) at my parent's house.
  • Mom, you did a great job.

  • Hope you feel better soon Peg AND don't need surgery.
  • Vibes for good, fast healing, Pegasus.

I did a whole lotta nothin'.  I had a massive headache on Saturday, though I did paint my miniatures and for a beginner, I think they came out alright.
  • Yes, Peg ditto on fast healing.

  • I think DS has a milk allergy.  I did, and DD did, but DS seemed like he was okay.  He used to eat Yo Baby by the cupful, when he was starting solids, and everything seemed fine.  But he's had issues on and off for a couple of months now, and at first we thought it was the amoxicillin, but he's been off that for almost a month now.  His first birthday is in a couple of weeks, so I started introducing small amounts of cow's milk over the weekend (1 oz. cow's milk + 7 oz. breastmilk and/or formula) and it did NOT go well.  At all.  Fussy, messy, lots of laundry.  So we switched him to Nutramigen (which is the hydrolyzed formula I used to supplement DD with).  It's only been a day, so we can't say anything for certain, but so far, so good.  (Hence the poop text I referenced in my lunch/lap post.)

If it is a milk allergy, it will sort of be a relief, because we'll know what's going on.  And it's a fairly easy fix--if it was this late of an onset and he tolerated nursing when I wasn't on a restricted diet, then he's definitely not as sensitive to it as DD was.  So instead of having to scour ingredient labels to make sure there's no whey in the crackers, we can basically just avoid actual dairy products and he should be okay.  But it's also a new thing, because by the time DD was his age, she had already outgrown it, so I never had to put her on soy milk or soy toddler formula or anything--she started cow's milk at a year and ate yogurt and cheese and everything.  He's big, and I worry about feeding him everything he needs without dairy.  He tried cheese pizza this weekend and loooooooved it.  :(
