I can't believe I'm sick.

I haven't been sick for months and months! Of course, I get sick the week of my wedding. I have so much to do. Pick up my dress today, get my roots touched up tomorrow, gyno appointment Wednesday, nails done Thursday and we leave for the resort Friday.

FMIL is flying in tomorrow morning. I haven't done any laundry or cleaning since I woke up sick Saturday. Ahhhhhhh!

On the bright side, I am positive I will feel better by Saturday. And FI is taking good care of me.

Re: I can't believe I'm sick.

  • Stress=sickness. At least for me.

Take advantage of your time this week. I know it is hectic, but try to give yourself some time each day to just relax--even if it is just for a few moments.

I am so excited for you! Can't wait to hear all about the wedding!

One week is all you need to be back to normal. Here is my advice: try to take a breather. I know your wedding is coming soon but you have to relax or your body will go into panic mode and trust me you don't want it to do that. Try to delegate tasks and see to it you get some rest. My go to miracle sick remedy: NeoCitran Nighttime. Shit knocks me out for a full 12 hours and when I wake up I'm skipping about like a fairy farting too much fairy dust.

  • I'm sorry you're sick! Like @SaraBrideSoon said, make sure you give yourself a little time each day to just rest. I've got a million things to do this week as well but I'm going to make sure that I relax a little each day so I don't make myself sick either. I can't believe our weddings are at the end of this week!
  • Gah, that sucks! At least you're getting it NOW, though, and it should be gone before your wedding day!

Do you like whiskey? I always make hot toddies when I'm sick, and that tends to get rid of whatever ails me. And if not, at least I'm drunk so it's more tolerable.
  • Take care of yourself! My FI has been sick all week, and by some miracle I didn't catch it. Wedding is tomorrow so hopefully he feels back to 100%. He got the worst of it out early so I hope by your wedding you are feeling better!

Well this is now going to be my new go to. Thanks @esstee33!

Have a wonderful wedding day tomorrow!!
  • Thanks all!! I actually did call in sick today and I'm on the couch resting (trying to resist the urge to vacuum). I don't usually drink whiskey, but I do like Hot Toddys!

    Cupcait - we're so close! I can't believe it.
  • I bet you aren't sleeping enough. Now is the perfect time to abuse cold medicine and sleep more!!!

  • Oh no! Well, like others said, better to get sick now! Drink lots of vitamin C, take some emergency, and rest! You'll be perfect for Saturday. I can't wait to hear about your big day, and for pics!

  • I agree with all of the advice above. But lots of sleep, EmergenC, and chicken soup. They fix all.

    You'll be fine!

You too. Have you gone to a doctor?

Not yet. If I don't feel better by tomorrow I'm hitting up urgent care.
  • Oh you poor thing. Flu symptoms? Lots of fluids, paracetamol(acetomenophin) and try to eat little and often. Vit c too. Feel better and take it easy.

  • I'm sick, too. It's definitely stress for me. I hope you feel better and have a gorgeous wedding day!
  • Thank god, I'm finally feeling better today! I'm at work, trying to take it easy.

@sarahbear31  - how are you feeling?

    @kns1988 - I hope you're feeling better too!
  • @climbingBrideNY I hope you and everyone gets better! I'm sick but not the cold kind of sick. I have this awful ear infection that has made part of my ear red and swollen. Why can't these drops instantly heal me?! ha

Oh no! I hope your infection is gone soon.
  • This exact thing happened to Daughter. Exactly the same, and my diagnosis is stress. Maybe it's the universe's way of telling you to get extra sleep. Damned universe. (Saturday morning, it vanished.)

Also, yay, Saturday! So seriously exciting. I can't wait for pictures! Until then, snuggle up, sleep as much as you can, delegate any small task you can. Homemade chicken soup is a genuine miracle cure. If I was close, I'd bring you some. Send FI to a deli. Everything will be fine.

I'm seriously so excited, I can't stand it!

FI went to the deli yesterday and got chicken soup AND matzoh ball soup (which I love love love) and I've been eating all of it.
  • @ClimbingBrideNY‌ , I feel SO much better today! Hooray antibiotics and steroids! I'm glad to see you're feeling better, too!
